Each week, we’re sharing a story or fact that highlights the people, milestones and memories that have helped shape Centacare over the past 25 years.

For 25 years, Centacare’s Family Support Coordinators have helped families navigate challenges, connect with support and find a way forward.

Sometimes it’s practical help. Sometimes it’s a listening ear. And sometimes, it’s simply knowing someone is there.

💛 Like peanut butter and jam, some things are just better together. The support of a good mate can help someone feel connected and supported as they navigate life's ups and downs.
We all want to be there for our friends when they're struggling, but sometimes it can be tricky to know what to say and do.

You don’t need to have all the answers. Start with a simple conversation:

💬 Ask - “Are you OK?”
👂 Listen - Give them space to talk.
🤝 Support - Ask how you can help.
📱 Check in - Let them know you’re still there.

A small check-in can make a big difference.

And remember, you don’t have to handle things alone.

Today is RUOK day - but its really important to ask the question Any day.
Got a feeling that someone you know or care about isn’t behaving as they normally would? Perhaps they seem out of sorts? More agitated or withdrawn? Or they’re just not themselves. Trust that gut instinct and act on it.
By starting a conversation and commenting on the changes you’ve noticed, you could help that family member, friend or workmate open up. If they say they are not OK, you can follow the conversation steps to show them they’re supported and help them find strategies to better manage the load. If they are OK, that person will know you’re someone who cares enough to ask.🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
