🩸 Supporting Chloe’s Challenge! 🩸

It is World Blood Donor Day today and we would love for our school community to show Chloe Brown how much we care. This coming July marks a full 10 years since Chloe began relying on weekly plasma donations.

Here is an example of two of our wonderful staff members, Miss Madi Cooper and Mr James Coleman, joining Chloe’s Challenge Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Team to support her!

Year 10 PASS students successfully completed a Coaching Assessment Task at Oxley Vale Public School, planning and delivering a range of engaging sporting activities and skill-based drills including basketball, cricket, touch football, soccer, dodgeball, Oztag and handball.

Throughout the morning, students demonstrated excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills while supporting younger students in a fun and inclusive environment. It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm, teamwork and positive attitudes on display from all involved.

A sincere thank you to the staff and students of Oxley Vale Public School, especially Mrs Genienne Ellis, for their warm welcome and ongoing support. We always value the opportunity to spend time at our partner schools and to strengthen these important connections.

A special shout out to our Year 10 student, Ciana Mann, for going above and beyond to support both her peers and the primary students, ensuring everyone felt included and encouraged throughout the session.

We would also like to acknowledge our Miss A for her ongoing commitment to creating meaningful learning opportunities and enriching the experiences of her students within and beyond the Oxley gates.

Ms Dewhirst’s Year 10 PDM students have been getting creative with a fun “Bookface” photography challenge.

Using book covers, students carefully lined up images with real-life poses and backgrounds to create some incredibly clever optical illusions. The results were impressive, with plenty of laughs along the way as students worked together to bring the covers to life.

The activity encouraged students to think about composition, perspective and visual storytelling, while also giving them the chance to showcase their creativity and attention to detail.

Well done to everyone involved. A great example of creativity, collaboration and learning in action. 📸

🎓 ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT | SOPHIE BLANCH 🎬

Once an Oxley creative, always an Oxley creative! We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of Oxley High School alumna, Sophie Blanch.

🏑 What a fantastic day of Open Boys and Girls Hockey at the Tamworth Hockey Centre! 🏑

Both teams represented Oxley with pride, determination and outstanding sportsmanship throughout a day of competitive hockey.

Our Open Girls team took on Armidale Secondary College and although defeated, played with determination and represented Oxley proudly.

Our Open Boys team had an exciting day of competition, drawing with Armidale Secondary College before keeping their composure to win in a thrilling penalty shootout. They then faced Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School and were defeated after another strong performance.

A special mention to the boys’ team, with several students stepping onto the hockey field for the first time and showing incredible potential, resilience and teamwork.

Overall, it was a successful day of hockey and a great experience for all students involved. Congratulations to both teams on the way they represented Oxley and best of luck in the next stage of the competition!

A huge thank you to Miss Amelia Kroehnert and Mr Sam Brown for their support, encouragement and guidance throughout the day and for contributing to a fantastic day of hockey for all students involved.

Yesterday, our students had the exciting opportunity to step into the world of agriculture and discover just how diverse and dynamic career pathways in this industry really are.

From high energy live demonstrations to hands-on experiences, students were fully immersed in all things agriculture, including drone flying, working dogs, shearing, farm vehicle safety and the ever-popular Student Auctioneering Challenge.

A huge thank you to Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School for hosting such a well-organised and inspiring event, our students had an absolute blast and represented Oxley with pride.

We also extend our sincere thanks to the event sponsors for their ongoing support of future agricultural leaders: Marcus Oldham, Charles Sturt University, Cleveland Agriculture, The University of New England, University of Sydney, Double R Tamworth and McCulloch Agencies.

Opportunities like this open doors, spark ambition and help shape the future of agriculture

Thank you to everyone involved in making this such a memorable and meaningful experience.
