The Paton Family Committee advises that the planned reunion for Anzac Day weekend 2024 is being altered to be a smaller-scale event, with the larger reunion to be held on the 190 year celebration of the landing of the Brilliant in Australia in 2028.
We are aiming for the event in April 2024 to be an opportunity to gather, share stories and deepen, connections, alongside helping the committee with their ongoing work in updating the family tree and planning the reunion.
It has been a significant undertaking updating the family tree as well as planning a substantial reunion, and the committee is using the April gathering as an opportunity for attendees to directly help update the family tree database.
We are requesting broader assistance and leadership into updating the family ancestry for each “branch” (Mitta, Welaeregang, Yabba, Tallandoon, Gundowring, Holbrook and Noorongong, noting the cessation of Fernvale). We are also looking for people to contribute to the 2028 reunion by volunteering to help with planning:
●Catering
●Programming
●Logistics
●RSVPs/invites
●Speakers & story telling
●Merchandise
●Kids program
●Entertainment
●Memorabilia
● Other TBC

Any questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Please forward this email on to anyone you think might be interested as you can understand we are still collating everyone’s contact details.
As always, please remember the committee undertakes this work on a volunteer basis and we request that feedback is kind, constructive and provided with love and generosity.
