This morning Frazers Cutting were called out to a grass fire started by a mower. Despite all the rain we have had the grass still burned. Let’s take this as a reminder to always take care.

Planning a Burn:
⏰At least 24 hours before burning🔥, you must notify your local NSW RFS Fire Control Centre or Fire & Rescue NSW Station of your intention to burn (unless specified otherwise in your permit). The fire authority will record the information and monitor weather conditions.

☎️📨You must also notify any adjoining neighbours including those separated by a road, lane or waterway at least 24 hours before burning.
Your neighbours may be exposed to the smoke from your burn and may need to make preparations to avoid any negative impacts (medical conditions, impacts on
sensitive crops, livestock and pets). 🐥🐴

Big thank you to our two crews who yesterday and this morning worked through until 5 am to protect properties on Cyril Smith Circuit, Bushy Drive, Plains Station Rd and Chauvel Rd. Unfortunately there were some losses, although the numbers were low. A mammoth effort from all concerned including numerous landholders with their own firefighting units and a strike team from the Northern Rivers District.
