This National Reconciliation Week, we’re proud to be ‘All In’ for reconciliation.

At Greater Sydney Parklands, we embed reconciliation in our everyday work - partnering with First Nations businesses and communities to create meaningful programs and experiences that honour and nurture their enduring connection to Country as the Traditional Custodians of the lands, waters and skies.

Together, we’re listening, learning and taking action toward a more inclusive future.

It’s National Volunteer Week! 🫶 👩‍🌾

National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering, recognising the contribution of millions of volunteers across the country.

Volunteering is one of the lifebloods of Centennial Parklands. Through our volunteer bushcare programs, we can achieve far more than would otherwise be possible – resulting in environmental and social benefits for the whole community.

Last week, we caught up with our Volunteer Coordinator, Dave Harrington, right here at the Centennial Parklands Nursery, and followed some of our incredible volunteers throughout the day. 🌱

A huge thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers for the time, care and passion you bring to our parklands and community. Your contribution helps make these special places thrive for everyone to enjoy. 💚

Thinking about volunteering? There’s never been a better time to get involved and make a difference across Centennial Park and other Greater Sydney Parklands locations. Learn more about volunteering and sign up today 👉 Link in bio

Today is World Bee Day. 🐝 🌸

Did you know Australia is home to around 2,000 species of native bees?

At Centennial Park, these tiny powerhouses are hard at work every day, pollinating our plants and keeping our green spaces thriving.

Get outside, look closely, and you might just spot one hard at work. 🌿

Here's what's been happening at Bush School in Centennial Park, in the words of our facilitator Samantha. 🌿

"Bush School is a chance to connect and ground in nature with your kid for a few hours. We guide you through a child-led session that asks you to listen, observe, play, meet new people and discover the animals and plants that call Centennial Park home. My favourite part is watching how playful and simple exploration outside, mixed with a little storytelling and craft, has most participants walking away feeling a little lighter and a little more grounded. Autumn and winter will bring with it colourful craft, fire making, shelters and hibernation."
