Final chance to have your say on the proposed changes to the Liverpool Local Environmental Plan 2008 (LEP). 📢

The LEP is the Local Planning Instrument that sets the rules for building and development for most of the Liverpool Local Government Area.

Known as the ‘New Liverpool LEP Project’, the initiative includes amendments to planning controls for industrial, environmental, and recreational land, along with provisions for Build-to-Rent housing and revised bonus incentives within the Liverpool City Centre.

Please note that suburbs such as Austral, Bradfield, Badgerys Creek, Cecil Park, Greendale, Leppington and Luddenham are covered by NSW Government Planning Legislation and are not impacted by this review.

This is your chance to tell us what you think about these changes.

Closes next Friday 12 June 2026. 📅⌛

Liverpool's own Barry Du Bois joined Mayor Ned Mannoun to take on The Push-Up Challenge and help raise awareness for mental health.

Nationally known as a television presenter, Barry grew up in Liverpool, went to Chipping Norton Public, studied at Miller TAFE and proudly calls Liverpool home.

The Push-Up Challenge aims to complete 3,307 push-ups throughout June, representing the number of lives lost to su***de in Australia in 2024. Every push-up helps raise awareness, start conversations and support better mental health outcomes for Australians.

Whether you're doing push-ups, another form of exercise, donating or simply sharing the message, every action counts.

Think these items belong in your yellow bin? Think again!

🍕 Pizza boxes
☕ Coffee cups
🥤 Coffee cup lids
🪞 Broken glass (mirrors, window glass, broken bottles - wrapped safely)

These items all belong in general waste 🔴🚮

🫙 Glass bottles and jars
📦 Clean cardboard

These items belong in recycling! 🟡♻️

Small amounts of contamination can impact a truckload of recycling and make sorting slower and more time consuming.

If in doubt, check Council’s A–Z Waste Guide before you bin it: https://brnw.ch/21x34KP 🔗

Liverpool City Council is responding to an accidental oil spill in the Liverpool CBD caused by a hydraulic leak from a street sweeper vehicle.

As part of our standard safety procedures, sand and absorbent products have been applied to affected areas to help manage the spill and ensure public safety while clean-up works are underway.

Council crews are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and expect the clean-up to be completed this afternoon and overnight.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused to local businesses, residents and visitors, and thank the community for their patience and understanding while these works are carried out.
