Sydney City Branch has an influx of new members, and many turned up to our cookery day on Sunday to learn how to make the popular preserves we sell at our market stalls. Held at North Sydney Community Centre and attended by 16 people, the day was hosted by Cookery Officer, Jeannette Tran, and experienced jam and preserve maker, Kaye McIntyre (pictured).
As well as helping make Sweet Mustard Pickles, Bread & Butter Cucumbers and Tomato Chutney, those attending also learnt how to sterilise jars and bottle the preserves. We all then enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea.
Keep an eye out for this latest batch of preserves at our upcoming stalls – Carriageworks on Saturday, June 27, and Concord Rotary Farmers’ Market on Sunday, July 5.
