Grateful to be hosted by the Nelson Meers Foundation to talk organised misogyny and the electoral arm of the women’s movement. 💪

At a time when voters are feeling increasingly disaffected by the major parties and we’re seeing regressive views of gender being normalised by public figures - this Vida Chair’s lunch couldn’t have been more timely.

We’ve got some news! 📰

Today, Vida Fund announced the appointment of Brittany Higgins to a senior role as the organisation launches an ambitious new strategy focused on gender equity and countering the rise of misogyny and far-right political movements in Australia.

Exciting times ahead. 🙌

Vida Fund is proud to support Kate Dezarnaulds in the Kiama by-election.

Kate is a proven community-backed independent with a bold, practical vision for NSW. Her platform centres gender equity — from secure funding for frontline domestic and sexual violence services, to safer workplaces, pay equity, and better pathways for women in leadership. She is also committed to ensuring reproductive healthcare is accessible across every Local Health District.

Now that the dust has finally settled, we would like to congratulate all the incredible independent candidates who ran in the 2025 federal election.
This election marks a historic moment, with a record-breaking number of women elected to Australia’s Parliament.
Across all parties and the crossbench, women now make up a record-smashing 49.1% of Parliament, which is a powerful step towards a more inclusive and representative democracy.
We’re proud to have played a part in driving this change by backing this group of courageous, community-backed women who aim to reshape our political future.
A special mention goes out to all the volunteers involved in these hard-fought, community-led campaigns. No matter the result, you helped create history!
Vida Fund is excited to build on this progress and see how the 48th Parliament works to deliver greater gender equity in Australia.

Her guidance and leadership continue to inspire us to pursue positive change in the world.

We’re 10 days out from polling day, and what happens between now and then will determine the direction we take as a country.

For a safer and fairer society, we need more independent women in Parliament, and now is a critical moment to support them.
