Seniors’ Stories Volume 12 – Now Open for Entries

This year’s theme, Neighbours, Strangers, and the People In Between, invites seniors to reflect on the many connections that shape our lives - the familiar faces, the fleeting encounters, and everyone who colours the spaces in between.

The 2026 Seniors’ Stories competition is officially open from 2 April to 14 May, and we’re inviting all NSW Seniors Card and Senior Savers Card members to share their voice.

The top 100 stories will be published in this year’s anthology, with authors also given the opportunity to have their work published in their native language alongside the English version.

The Seniors’ Stories writing competition and workshops are proudly delivered in partnership between NSW Seniors Card and the Fellowship of Australian Writers NSW Inc. (FAW).

This week we celebrated the launch of Seniors’ Stories Vol. 11, an annual anthology that shines a light on the creativity, wisdom, and lived experiences of older people across NSW.

This year’s theme, Then and Now, invited seniors to reflect on the changes they’ve witnessed in themselves, their communities, and the world around them.

We were thrilled to congratulate the 100 authors whose stories were selected from more than 350 entries received across NSW, including contributors from regional and remote communities.

Several stories were also translated into the authors’ chosen languages, reflecting the cultural diversity that enriches our community. Languages represented this year include Bengali, Cantonese, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Malayalam, and Sinhalese.
