🌿Thank you all for being part of Multicultural Health Week 2026🌿

Last week, communities across NSW came together for Multicultural Health Week (31 August–6 September), highlighting this year’s theme: “Improving our mental health and wellbeing through physical activity.”

The week was officially launched at the State Library of NSW by NSW Minister for Health The Hon Ryan Park MP , alongside Minister for Mental Health The Hon Rose Jackson MLC.

The launch featured the Multicultural Health Week 2026 video and an engaging panel discussion facilitated by Lisa Woodland, Director, NSW Multicultural Health Communication Service, with Susan Pearce AM, Secretary, NSW Health; Professor Tracey O’Brien AM, NSW Chief Cancer Officer and CEO, Cancer Institute NSW; Dr Jackie Curtis, Clinical Lead, Youth Mental Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and Executive Director, Mindgardens Neuroscience Network; and Sue Advani, Community Representative and a founding member of in the Room Inc.

Throughout the week, we shared community stories about staying active for better mental health and wellbeing, while communities across NSW also marked Multicultural Health Week through their own events and activities.

Thank you to our speakers, partners, health professionals, multicultural media, community organisations and everyone who took part.

The week may be over, but the wellbeing journey continues. 💚 Keep moving in a way that works for you.
