๐Ÿ“ฑ Your old phone could save someone's life.

We've partnered with DV Safe Phone to give unused mobile phones a second purpose. Donate your old phone at any Ku-ring-gai Library branch and help provide a safe, reliable lifeline to someone experiencing domestic and family violence.

And with today being World Environment Day, it's also a great way to reduce e-waste and keep valuable materials out of landfill. ๐ŸŒ

Councilโ€™s application for a special rate variation to fund much needed infrastructure improvements has been approved in full by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART).

The SRV will deliver an additional $20.7 million each year dedicated to funding improvements to community buildings, stormwater drainage, footpaths, recreational facilities, traffic and transport infrastructure, and for repayment of a loan for the new St Ives Indoor Sports Centre.

The IPART approval of the SRV would be considered by the Council at its meeting on 16 June before a final decision is made on the 2026/27 Delivery Program and Operational Plan.

26 May is National Sorry Day - a day of remembrance and reflection.

This morning we gathered at the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden with Aboriginal Elder and educator Uncle Brendan, alongside local students and teachers, to acknowledge the day and reflect on the importance of truth-telling, healing and reconciliation.

Today also marks the beginning of the Gai-mariagal Festival, an annual celebration of Aboriginal culture. Council is proud to support the Festival, which brings our community together to recognise and celebrate the worldโ€™s oldest continuing living culture.

Running through to the end of NAIDOC Week on 12 July, the program features weaving workshops, bushfood experiences, heritage talks, film screenings, nature play, storytelling and many other opportunities to learn, connect and celebrate.
