🌿 Walk on Country with Graham Avery 🌿

Today, our Deadly Kids and friends joined students from across our Woronora River Community of Schools for a special Walk on Country with Graham Avery.

We explored our local area and discovered the rich history of the Gweagal people, alongside stories of our colonial past. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about the history, culture and significance of places right in our own backyard.

A big thank you to Graham Avery for sharing his knowledge and stories and helping our students develop a deeper understanding of the Country we live and learn on. 🌿

3/4A and 5/6S enjoyed a Friday afternoon buddy weaving activity using raffia! 🌿 Building on their learning about how Dharawal people traditionally used plants such as Lomandra to create baskets, mats and other useful items, students had the opportunity to put their learning into practice while getting creative with their buddies!
