When applying for an Irish passport, we recommend using your smartphone to take your passport photo, as this allows you to adjust lighting, framing, and positioning until the image meets the required standard.

Please ensure:
โœ” Plain white background
โœ” Good lighting with no shadows
โœ” Head to mid-torso visible
โœ” Photo taken by another person (not a selfie)

โŒ No selfies
โŒ No zoom
โŒ No cropping or heavy editing

Some photos taken through alternative methods may not meet Irish biometric requirements delaying your application, so we strongly recommend following these official guidelines.

A fantastic evening at for the Culture Ireland showcase featuring artists participating in this yearโ€™s National Celtic Folk Festival in Australia. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช๐ŸŽถ

The evening featured performances from Saltaire, Seamus & Caoimhe and The Bath Street Boys, bringing together contemporary and traditional Irish folk music in a fantastic venue.

Our thanks to the for the invitation and to for supporting these artists to reach audiences in Australia.

If you missed the Sydney showcase, the artists will also be performing at the National Celtic Folk Festival in Portarlington next weekend.

All passport applications should be submitted well in advance of travel. Processing can take at least 16+ weeks, and Australia Post can take 20+ business days to deliver after dispatch from Ireland.

First time applications are the most complex as all documents need to be verified. You should not book travel until you have received a passport as these applications cannot be expedited.
