Campbelltown Hospital The Hospital works in partnership with the Sydney Children's Hospital to provide paediatric services.

Campbelltown Hospital provides networked public healthcare services with Camden Hospital for the local community of the Macarthur region including Camden, Campbelltown and Wollondilly. The services provided at Campbelltown and Camden Hospital include intensive care, cardiology, maternity, gynaecology, oncology, palliative care, respiratory and stroke, medicine, surgery, emergency medicine and aged

care services. Campbelltown and Camden Hospital is part of South Western Sydney Local Health District who is responsible for all public healthcare facilities from Bankstown to Bowral.

This World Su***de Prevention Day, remember you are not alone.

Our Safe Haven Campbelltown site provides free, immediate and professional support to people experiencing suicidal crisis or distress in a relaxed environment. We’re not a clinic and we’re not a hospital. We are a warm, relaxing and welcoming space.

We are run by peer workers who have personal, lived experience with suicidal distress and recovery. They know what it feels like to feel disconnected or out of control and are here to listen to you.

The choice is yours; the space is yours.

Located at 80 Woodhouse Drive, Ambarvale, NSW 2560, and open Friday-Monday 12pm-7.30pm.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should be aware that this post contains images and names of deceased persons.

We are incredibly sad to hear of the passing of Uncle Ivan Wellington.

Uncle Ivan was a much-loved member of our hospital community, who contributed to many aspects of our care, ranging from our redevelopment through to supporting Aboriginal community members. We are richer for his knowledge, wisdom and kindness.

These pictures were taken at a beautiful smoking ceremony at Campbelltown Hospital to celebrate the completion of our redevelopment’s construction. The new building has a lounge for Aboriginal Families to use when they or a loved one is in hospital. It’s called the Uncle Ivan Wellington Lounge in recognition of his incredible contributions to the hospital itself and to the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people in the region.

It replaced the original Uncle Ivan Lounge (the final pictures in this series), which was opened in 2013 as part of Stage 1 of the redevelopment. When Aboriginal patients, families and community were surveyed about the project, they suggested a a room that was Culturally safe and appropriate for our families going through Sorry Business or births. We will miss his support and guidance as well as sitting down for a cuppa.

Thank you Uncle Ivan. Rest in Peace.

On Friday, 7 August, we celebrated Aboriginal Health Workers and Practitioners Day under the theme “Many Paths, Many Ways”, recognising the valuable contributions of Aboriginal Health Workers and Practitioners.

Their dedication, expertise, and cultural leadership play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities.

Renae’s career in healthcare is shaped by lived experience and a passion to give back.

Now a Medicolegal Officer here at Campbelltown Hospital, Renae moved from the country for university and has built her career in the District.

“I know first-hand how important our health system is,” she said. After growing up with a painful mobility disorder, Renae was diagnosed at 15 and the care she received changed her life.

“Without that care, my life would look very different. I wanted to give back to the community the same care I received.”

From supporting domestic and family violence processes to helping establish COVID-19 vaccination clinics, Renae’s work is grounded in compassion.

“It’s a real honour to be there for people on their hardest days.”
