Grateful to be invited to the The Broken Path and Wests Group Macarthur First Responder Golf Day at the awesome Lakeside Golf Course.

I had a fantastic day with some OK golf and lots of laughs with my team.
There were some serious sides to the day and it was great to listen to and to meet Geoff Togher - father of murdered Paramedic Steven Togher. We should all get together to support his Steven's Law Campaign - check it out here https://lnkd.in/gYagHMS5

It has been an enormous week for Beyond the Badge this week with our 2 Day Career Transition Program for First Responders conducted in Port Macquarie. Big THANK YOU to .portmacquarie for you sponsorship and support of the program. The program was opened by Operations Manager Paul Matic and People and Culture Leader Melissa Caruso. Your understanding and insights were such an important part of our Day 1 session and you made our 12 current and former Police officers feel relaxed and welcome. Thank you to John Fearnley and Fleur Harvey for having us and looking after our crew over the two days.

It was also a privilege to welcome back a former program participant Debra Nelson who has done some amazing things since we first met her in 2021. Deb gave up her time to address the team and provide her experience from a difficult transition out of NSW Police Force to her first, second and now current role as a senior manager with Transport for NSW. THANK YOU Deb - your words were so inspiring and a big hit.

Welcome to Episode #3 of the Beyond The Badge Podcast series
Michelle Glasgow is a former NSW Police Sergeant who served for 13 years in various roles including, General Duties, Crime Coordinator, Domestic Violence, Education and Licencing. She is married to Matt, a current serving officer of 30 years and has a blended family of 5 with 6 grandchildren. She underwent the Beyond The Badge Program in 2018 and was at the time looking for jobs as a cleaner. Her self esteem was at an all-time low.
Michelle is currently the General Manager of Women Illawarra, a local grassroots feminist organisation which has served the women and children of the Illawarra since 1979. She has extensive experience in responding to domestic, family and sexual violence in our community as both a community services worker and a sworn NSW police officer from 2003-2016. Michelle is a passionate advocate for women’s safety and empowerment, committed to fulfilling the vision of Women Illawarra – A world where all women feel safe, valued, respected and have a sense of belonging.
Michelle’s story is truly inspirational and shows what skills can be brought to bear from 13 years in Policing. We hope you enjoy this one.

EXCITING DAY for Beyond The Badge - Episode 1 of our new Podcast series dropped today. This episode is an introduction to Simon and Sean and tells their stories from growing up to Joining the WA and NSW Police and then their struggles with leaving and moving on. There are then great success stories of their corporate lives until tragedy struck in 2017 - a tragedy that turned the boys attention to their Blue Family and the need to build something that provided a Pathway for the time when first responders needed to move on from the service. Thus- Beyond The Badge was born.

We hope you get something out of this podcast that might inspire you or your colleagues & friends to allow Simon and myself assist you with our Program. (Apologies for the 1 hr timeframe - future episodes will hit the 30 min mark)
