ARMIDALE, 23 May 2026 - The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney conducted its first Consular Outreach Mission for the year in Armidale, New South Wales on 23 May 2026.
The outreach mission served Filipinos from Armidale and neighboring towns, providing convenient access to essential consular services without the need to travel to Sydney. The initiative also featured the participation of the Migrant Workers Office in Canberra which extended assistance and services to members of the Filipino community.
The consular team, headed by Vice Consul Diana Marie D. Jimenez-Leomo, provided services for passport renewal, civil registration, notarials, and NBI fingerprinting. Vice Consul Jimenez-Leomo also administered the Oath of Allegiance to applicants who retained or reacquired their Philippine citizenship under the countryโs dual citizenship law.
In addition to frontline services, members of the consular team responded to various queries concerning consular processes and dual citizenship concerns, further assisting members of the community in navigating government services abroad.
The outreach mission, held in cooperation with the Filipino Association of Armidale Inc. (FAARM), forms part of the Consulateโs continuing efforts to make essential services more accessible to Filipinos residing in regional and remote areas of New South Wales. Community members expressed appreciation for the conduct of the outreach, underscoring the importance of initiatives that strengthen the Consulateโs engagement with Filipinos across Australia.
Armidale, located in the New England High Country approximately 480 kilometers north of Sydney, serves as a major regional hub in northern New South Wales and is home to a growing Filipino community.
