Protect your caravan and contents this summer 🚐

Don’t make it easy for thieves, make it secure.

➡️ Remove all valuables, or ensure they are out of view.
➡️ Mark your property with a unique personal code.
➡️ Install a sensor light for inside and outside of your van/camper trailer.
➡️ Install a GPS tracker and security devices such as wheel clamps, coupling padlocks and alarms.
➡️ Take photos or a video of your site set up to keep an accurate description of your vehicles and valuables.

If you have a good relationship with your neighbours, tell them when you are going away, and let them know if you are taking or leaving your caravan or trailer.

A few simple steps can stop a costly loss.

Cybercriminals will try and reroute legitimate payments straight into their own bank accounts by impersonating a business, supplier, coworker, or client. They will pressure you with urgent or overdue deadlines (e.g. before a weekend or end of day), provide unusual instructions or ask you to update your personal or bank details.

Do not send money or provide any personal information.

Always verify by calling or contacting the person or business via their official website.

Welcome to the first edition of the Booze Bus Weekly Round Up.

Between Monday the 31st of August to Sunday the 6th of September, our team were deployed around Melbourne, Geelong and regional Victoria.

During this period, Booze Bus operators detected a total of 18 drink driving offences, with multiple offenders detected in the Casey, Melton and Whitehorse areas.

Two notable readings of 0.141 and 0.139 resulted in drivers being banned on the spot from driving on our roads, with both to receive a summons to speak with a Magistrate in the near future.

Other drink driving offenders received either a Penalty Infringement Notice where eligible, or those with prior offences will be appearing before a Magistrate.

A further three drivers were detected for drug driving offences, with each driver returning positive oral fluid samples.

The team at Booze Bus can be anywhere at anytime, but we are also supported by local units such as Highway Patrol and Divisional Vans who also do great work in detecting drug and alcohol impaired drivers.

As the weather gets warmer, rest assured that drug and alcohol testing remains a priority to reduce road trauma and keep road users safe.

Swan Hill Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged a man after a car was stolen with a baby inside in Beverford on Wednesday morning.

It's understood a motorist was flagged down by the man on the Murray Valley Highway about 11.10am on 9 September.

Detectives allege the 36-year-old woman exited her vehicle to assist the man before a struggle ensued and the man stole the Holden Commodore.

A seven-month-old baby, who was inside the vehicle at the time of the incident, was located by a passerby on the side of the highway a short distance away.

The woman, who sustained minor injuries, and her uninjured baby were quickly reunited and transported to hospital.

The Holden was later located abandoned in bushland near Pire Road in Nyah.

A 51-year-old Swan Hill man was arrested several hours later in relation to the incident and charged.

The Swan Hill man was remanded by police and appeared at Kerang Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

He was further remanded to appear at Mildura Magistrates’ Court on 2 December.

Kerang Police are investigating a theft that occurred at a local business on Monday the 24th of August. Police believe the person in the image may be able to assist in the investigation.

At 3.10am on the 6th of September 2026 Swan Hill police observed a white utility leaving a local pub in the Swan Hill area. A subsequent intercept resulted in the driver being required to return to the Swan Hill Police Station for an evidentiary breath test. The result of the breath test recorded a positive reading of 0.056. The 23year old male was issued with a penalty notice with a six-month suspension to his driver licence.

Not even 20 minutes later.

At 3.30am on the 6th of September 2026 Swan Hill police members observed a blue hatchback and decided to intercept and speak to the driver. The 19year old male provided a sample of breath which indicated alcohol in his breath. He was required to accompany police to the Swan Hill Police Station where he returned an Evidentiary Breath test result of 0.093. He was issued with a penalty notice with a six-month suspension to his driver licence, and an immediate driving ban for six months.
