📢 Community Notice | Woorinen South Community Centre 🚧

👷‍♂️ Council is working with a local plumbing contractor to replace the existing septic tank servicing the Woorinen South Community Centre.

🚫 As a result of these works, the public toilets located at the rear of the centre are currently unavailable. Please do not enter the cordoned-off area for your own safety.

🚻 Access to the public toilets is expected to resume next week upon completion of the works.

🙏 Council thanks the community for its patience and understanding during this important upgrade. 🛠️✨

Woorinen South - Boil Water Advice is now Rescinded 01/08/2026 💦✅

Potable water customers in Woorinen South please note that the 'Boil Water' advice is now rescinded.

Water quality sampling has now been undertaken across the system which shows the water meets drinking water quality standards.

You are now able to use the potable water for drinking and food preparation.

Outside water use restrictions are also now cancelled.

We thank you for your patience while we undertook repair works and checked the system.

BOIL WATER ADVICE & EXTERNAL WATER USE RESTRICTION - WOORINEN

Lower Murray Water (LMW) is advising customers in the Woorinen township to boil water for a minimum of one minute prior to consumption until further notice.

Emergency use restrictions are also imposed until further notice. No external use is permitted for town drinking water in Woorinen.

Water is safe for showers and baths but must be boiled and cooled if used for drinking and food preparation.

“A burst supply pipeline has caused the Woorinen water tower to be exhausted and as a part of the refill process we are issuing a boil water advice until the system is back to operating as normal”

“The limited supply is causing a reduction in the ability to disinfect the water to a potable standard.”

“A drinking water supply truck is currently being prepared to be located in Woorinen Township for customers to fill containers with. We will provide further advice on its location shortly"

Other areas in the region are not affected and can continue to use water as usual.

1. On Bright Street to connect the school to the community centre and preschool.
2. On Palmer Street to improve safety around the school.
