🔥 Training exercise 🔥

Last night our brigade responded to what appeared to be a structure fire; however, this was a planned training exercise designed to maintain and enhance our operational capabilities.

The exercise provided an opportunity for members to utilise a broad range of brigade equipment and skills, ensuring we remain prepared to safely and effectively manage incidents of all sizes and complexities.

Regular training is essential in helping our firefighters maintain their knowledge, build confidence, and work effectively as a team so we can continue providing the highest level of service to our community.

2026 Elections

Last night our Brigade held its bi-annual elections for officers and office bearers.

All roles commence effective July 1st.

Today we recognise those who's duty it is to run towards danger when others are told to leave.

On International Firefighter Day, we thank our incredible CFA members and all of those who protect communities in times of crisis and every day in between.

Your courage, commitment and care don't go unnoticed.

The 2026 CFA / VFBV Firefighter State Championships - Celebrating CFA are in the bag for our junior members.

Congratulations to all of our runners and coaches. A massive thank you to the families and Brigade members who have supported our future firefighters this season.

Placings were as follows

U14 A
Hydrant race 2nd place
Marshall 1 competitor 3rd place
Y coupling four competitors 5th place
Wet hose striking 1st and 2nd disc 2nd place

U17 A
Y coupling 2 competitors 5th place
Marshall 1 competitor 5th place
Striking 1 disc twice 3rd place

U17 B
Marshall 1 competitor 2nd place

Congratulations to all the competing brigades on their success and friendly competition. As well as a massive thank you to the Stawell Fire Brigade for being amazing hosts.

Good luck to our seniors who will compete next weekend.

☀️ Hot Weather Safety – Let’s Look After Each Other, Swan Hill ☀️

With hot days ahead, it’s important we all take a few extra steps to stay safe and prepared.

🔥 Fire safety
• Have a fire plan in place in case conditions change quickly
• Download the VicEmergency app to stay up to date with what’s happening around us
• Stay informed about Total Fire Ban days and make sure you follow the rules

💧 Staying cool
• Drink plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty
• Stay indoors during the hottest part of the day where possible
• Wear light clothing, hats, and sunscreen if you’re outside

👵🐶 Look out for others
• Check in on neighbours, elderly family members, and anyone living alone
• Make sure pets and animals have shade and fresh water
• Never leave children or animals in parked vehicles — even for a short time

Hot weather can be tough, but by being prepared and looking out for one another, we can keep our community safe. ❤️

Bunnings Sausages!

Now that I have your attention, given it’s the long weekend and you’ve been putting off your odd jobs. We recommend that you head on down to Bunnings Warehouse Australia Swan Hill and grab your odds and ends.

While you’re there you should support our junior fire brigade who are eagerly cooking up a feast today while you stock up.

We appreciate your support and can’t wait to see you see you!

Last night Strike Team 1811 and 1875 responded to Ravenswood to assist during the catastrophic fire conditions. Thank you to the crews for their response and their families.

A massive thank you to Four Posts Jarklin Fig Tree Watering Hole and Coffee on Loddon
for your hospitality and support to our crews as they headed home.

Thanks to Nyah Nyah West, Beverford, Waitchie tankers as well as crews from neighbouring brigades for joining us as part of 1811. As well as Lake Boga who responded as part of 1875.
