Brimbank City Council’s Annual Action Plan and Budget for 2026/2027 was adopted this week.

Over 550 community members shared their ideas for Brimbank. This has helped make sure local concerns are prioritised. Community members attended Council-run community panel workshops, advisory groups, pop up sessions and online consultation activities between March and May 2026.

Key themes identified in consultation included:
🚦safer roads and footpaths
🏏upgraded parks and sporting facilities
🧹cleaner streets
🌳increased tree planting and shade
👩‍🦽‍➡️improved accessibility
☮ stronger responses to illegal dumping and anti-social behaviour.

Community members also expressed strong interest in revitalising activity centres, supporting local businesses, creating more opportunities for young people, and strengthening neighbourhood pride through arts, culture, and community events. 🎈🎏🎪🪭🎓🎷🏮🍜

Thank you to every member of our community that contributed. More info is here:

Tonight we mark National Police Legacy Day with a light projection across Hampshire Road, opposite Sunshine Library. 💜

This is a small way we can honour the police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and the loved ones they left behind.

After sunset tonight, the public space outside the Sunshine Library will be illuminated in purple to mark our respect. 🌆 The purple Michaelmas Daisy is the official flower and symbol of Police Legacy.
