It’s so fantastic to see members from across different groups in our unit come together as one to achieve the same goal and outcome.
Well done to everyone involved last night.

Once again thank you to all our volunteers who make a sacrifice to help our community in the time of need.

On Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day), we stand together to express our deepest gratitude and admiration for the incredible volunteers of our local State Emergency Service (SES). These selfless volunteers are the backbone of our communities during times of crisis, stepping forward into storms, floods, and unpredictable emergencies when needed most. Their iconic orange uniforms symbolise hope, resilience, and an unwavering readiness to help when it matters most.

This WOW Day, which beautifully coincides with National Volunteer Week, we recognise that the exceptional dedication of our SES volunteers extends far beyond emergency response. Through countless hours of rigorous training and community education, they build the very foundation of local resilience. To every SES volunteer across the State, thank you for your service. Today, we proudly wear orange to honour your invaluable contributions and to ensure your vital efforts are celebrated and supported by the entire community 🧔

Paddy the Platypus – We’re excited to share some great news - Paddy the Platypus is back and ready to join you at community events!

You might notice that Paddy looks a little different this time around. We’ve given our beloved mascot a bit of a makeover to make the design cooler to wear and more comfortable for those lucky enough to wear the suit. We’re confident Paddy’s new look will be a hit with both volunteers and the community!

So, when you see Paddy out and about, don’t forget to say hi, give him a high five, or even a cuddle. He’s ready to help us spread the SES spirit and bring smiles to faces at events across Queensland.

We can’t wait for you to meet the new and improved Paddy!

Today members of the Caloundra SES joined the community in attending the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Kings Beach, standing in reflection and remembrance of those who have served and sacrificed.

Following the service members came together for the Caloundra RSL Gunfire Breakfast and assisted with the ANZAC march. Members Russell and Danny then had the honour of laying a wreath on behalf of the SES.

The commemoration was a humbling experience which could not be marred by the rain.

We will remember them.

Big win for Caloundra SES! šŸ‘

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our SES Support Group and our dedicated members, we’ve successfully fundraised for a much-needed rough terrain pallet jack. This equipment will make a real difference to how we handle and move sandbags—reducing manual strain and helping us work more efficiently during operations.

Our Support Group, made up of dedicated committee members, works tirelessly behind the scenes to raise funds and ensure our volunteers have the tools they need to serve the community safely and effectively. This is a direct result of their commitment.

A huge thank you to the local businesses who generously donated items for our fundraising BBQs—your support played a key role in making this happen. We’re proud to be backed by such a strong community.
