'United Journey' highlights the rich history of our region and the importance of living and learning from one another.

Congratulations to Sunshine Coast based developer Evans Long on the recent opening of their brand new $20 million building A1 at the gateway to the new Maroochydore City Centre. The five level building includes a rooftop area and will be home to a number of key tenants including yield advisory, Sherrin Partners Financial Advisers - Sunshine Coast and international tech firm Maropost who have taken up two levels. It was a big day at the new Maroochydore City Centre with the arrival of a 40-metre crane to mark the commencement of the new multi-deck parking facility.

The eight-storey car park will include 295 paid parking spaces, including accessible parking and electric vehicle charging spaces plus 39 motorcycle and 28 bicycle spaces.

The carpark is on schedule to be completed by December 2023 (subject to weather and material availability).

Congratulations to the four artists who were awarded a $10,000 CITY BLOOM grant to bring a florilegium of projected plant images to a free 'night garden' event at the MET for all the community to enjoy.

This illuminating art event will be presented alongside the next Design Series event in March 2023.

The Place Activation Grant Program is an initiative of the Maroochydore City Centre delivered in partnership between Walker Corporation, SunCentral and Sunshine Coast Council.

We are beyond excited to announce our first Place Activation Grant Program recipients, CITY BLOOM. This collaboration of four artists were awarded the $10,000 grant to bring a florilegium of projected plant images to a free 'night garden' event at the MET for all the community to enjoy.

This illuminating art event will be presented alongside the next Design Series event in March 2023.

In the lead up to the event, art collaborators, Sue Davis, Chony Bowden and Man&Wah will be hosting art workshops in nature photography, paper lantern making and botanical life drawing.

Starting on January 19th, tickets for workshops are now available via Eventbrite.

$10 per workshop with very limited tickets for maximum enjoyment.

This is an incredible opportunity to learn new skills and contribute to a unique art installation event in the heart of the new city centre.

It's been a big year at the Maroochydore City Centre with a number of milestones achieved and capped off last weekend with the opening of the Sunshine Coast City Hall building. Thanks to My Weekly Preview for the coverage in this week's edition.

Just one more sleep. Join us at 11am tomorrow for all the fun activities to celebrate the opening of Sunshine Coast City Hall.

For the opening of City Hall on Saturday 10 December, the MET we will be hosting some free family fun activities from 11 am as part of our Living Lab project.

Encouraging us to make gifts this Xmas and reduce waste, Robyn Cook (the kitchen garden teacher) will be on site to show us how to make a Xmas table runner from flowers and plants. Or maybe you'd like to gift your loved ones a plant for Xmas.

All materials will be provided. BYO enthusiasm.

Blake from will also be on site doing some planting of our Kitchen Garden. Bring your gardening questions and give Blake a helping hand.
