For the last four years, I've worked hard to protect what we love, and deliver what you said was needed. PAGE GUIDELINES

There is more work to be done and I’m ready and able to do it. Division 9 is where I live, and I work hard for positive change for our community. Differing views are welcome as long as they are respectful. Please accept that others will have different opinions or views. Comments that are unrelated to a post and are intended solely for lobbying purposes will be hidden or deleted. Community groups or associations who are tagged or posted about are appreciative of having their activities or services shown to the broader community. Please respect their group and activities by restraining lobbying efforts to my email or in messenger.
3. I will not respond to comments that are defamatory to other people or organisations. I have no control over their actions or decisions and as such will not support any negative or bullying comments.
4. Comments will be deleted if they are defamatory or contain offensive language.

It was a wet, muddy and joyous 1st year celebration of Coolum Eco parkrun!

Donella (flamingo) and Gerry (flat Grim Reaper) met with me (wet weather duck) well over a year ago to discuss starting a trail Park Run next to the Coolum Industrial Estate. Thanks to their persistence and diligence Coolum not only has a Park Run, but it’s always well attended, even when it’s muddy) and they are never short of volunteers!

A great community of people who are welcoming of all visitors. Was nice to spot Cr David Law in the running bunch!

❓ Did you know the Sunshine Coast's RideScore Active Schools program is the first of its kind in Australia? It encourages students to ride or scoot to and from school, rewarding them for making active and sustainable travel choices. 🚴‍♀️🛴💚 (Well done Colleen)

It has proven so successful that other Councils are rolling out RideScore in their regions to encourage active lifestyles, reduce school congestion, give parent's peace of mind and rewards students.

Speaking of rewards, congrats to all of the students who have won a trip to Australia Zoo!

Great work from all students and participating schools. Hope you've had fun and thank you for travelling so far on your own wheels and reducing carbon emissions. 👏

No Mobile Library stop tomorrow at Parklakes, Bli Bli.

Mobile Library, Mobi 2 will not be operating tomorrow, Wednesday 9 September, due to an equipment issue.

The truck will be off the road while the components are removed and replaced.

🩷 BreastScreen Queensland is Coming to Coolum! 🩷

The free BreastScreen Queensland Mobile Service will be located at Park Street, Coolum from 23 September to 2 October.

✅ Breast screening is recommended every 2 yrs and most effective for women aged 50-74
✅ Free screening is also available for women in their 40s and those aged 75 and over
✅ Appointments take less than 30 minutes
✅ No doctor's referral is required

Regular breast screening can help save lives by detecting small changes in the breast that can't yet be seen or felt.

Congratulations to the Division 9 community groups that were successful in securing Minor Grant funding! 🎉

These grants help local organisations continue the fantastic work they do in our community, and I'm pleased to see funding supporting a diverse range of projects:

✅ Coolum Men's Shed will acquire replacement equipment to continue its activities and opportunities for members.

✅ Coolum Business and Tourism has received support for its popular Flix in the Park events, which bring our community together for family-friendly outdoor entertainment.

✅ Verrierdale Community Group will be assisted with the purchase of a new laptop and IT equipment to support its operations.

✅ Maroochy River Rowing Club will purchase SpeedCoach technology to enhance athlete development and coaching.

✅ Bli Bli Little Athletics Centre will take its coaching program up a notch with a new skills development initiative for young athletes.

👏 Thank you to all the volunteers and community organisations who dedicate their time to making our region a better place.
