Tomorrow ☕ Our Mooloolaba cafes, restaurants, retailers and tourism operators are ready for their regulars and to welcome visitors this Sunday!

That includes businesses at The Spit and along Parkyn Parade 🍤 fresh seafood outlets, fish and chip shops, waterfront dining venues and tourism experiences!

You can access the boat ramp, fisheries and Parkyn Parade businesses via a detour through The Wharf car park.

One lane of Parkyn Pde will be closed and the other will have a traffic control team managing a contra flow on the other side to keep traffic moving both directions so you can still get to The Spit.

If you're heading into Mooloolaba for your favourite barista, a meal with friends or a day at the beach, we encourage you to leave the car at home where possible and take advantage of the range of transport options available, including:
• Free event shuttle buses between Mountain Creek and Mooloolaba
• Ferry services ($15 return) from La Balsa to Mooloolaba
• 50 cent fares on Kinetic bus services
• Walking, riding and scooting

ParknGo Mooloolaba Central remains accessible throughout the weekend, except between 4.30am and 8.30am on Sunday.

🚧 Upcoming Night Roadworks on Brisbane Road, Mooloolaba 🚧

To help keep our roads safe and in good condition, Sunshine Coast Council will be carrying out road reseal and rehabilitation works on Brisbane Road, Mooloolaba from Monday 7 September to Friday 18 September 2026 (weather permitting).

The works will take place overnight between 6pm and 6am to minimise disruption to daytime traffic and businesses. During these times, on-street parking in the work area will not be available, and motorists may experience temporary traffic restrictions and delays.

These important upgrades form part of Council's $26 million Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program, helping to maintain a safe, efficient and reliable transport network for our growing community.

Residents, visitors and local businesses are encouraged to plan ahead, allow a little extra travel time, and take care when travelling through the work zone. Please slow down, follow traffic management directions and give road workers plenty of space.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while these essential road improvements are completed. 👍

🌊 More space, better views and easier access for everyone at Alex Bluff Foreshore! 🌿

The Alexandra Headland Coastal Pathway Upgrade has reached another exciting milestone, with much of the new foreshore pathway now open for the community to enjoy, along with a stunning new viewing platform and Mooloolaba-facing shelter.

Designed with our growing community in mind, the upgraded pathway has been widened from 1.8 metres to 3.5 metres, creating a safer and more comfortable space for walkers, runners, cyclists, families and those simply wanting to enjoy our beautiful coastline.

The improvements don't stop there. New seating, shade trees, landscaping and wildlife-friendly lighting are helping create a welcoming foreshore destination where people can pause, connect and take in the spectacular coastal views.

These enhancements are about more than infrastructure. They are about improving accessibility, encouraging healthy and active lifestyles, supporting community connection and ensuring residents and visitors can continue to enjoy one of the Sunshine Coast's most iconic coastal locations for years to come. ✨

While some landscape areas are still becoming established and work continues on the elevated boardwalk, it's fantastic to see the community already making use of these new spaces. Thank you for your patience as the final stages are completed.

🦀🐟 Meet Mooloolaba's newest ocean neighbourhood!

The Living Sea Wall has officially been installed, creating a thriving new habitat for marine life right beneath the surface. Designed to mimic the nooks and crannies of natural rocky reefs, these innovative panels provide a home for everything from oysters and barnacles to fish and other fascinating sea creatures.

The best part? What looks like a seawall to us is a luxury waterfront apartment complex for marine life! 🌊

📸 Mooloolaba Foreshore Revitalisation Update

Exciting progress is continuing on the Mooloolaba Foreshore Revitalisation project, with works advancing in front of the Mooloolaba Surf Club.

As these photos show, crews were today sifting and replacing the sand in this section of the foreshore, helping to restore the beach area.

This section is expected to be opened to the public soon.

Thank you to the community, local businesses and visitors for your patience while these important upgrades are delivered. The project is creating a more accessible, resilient and enjoyable beachfront precinct for everyone to enjoy for years to come.

Stay tuned for further updates as work continues across the foreshore.

Mooloolaba Bowls Club recently hosted the Ladies Fiesta Four Tournament.

This marks the 30th year that the tournament has been held there and the 10th year that Council has provided funding to support the event, with 12 clubs from around the region participating.

Numbers had increased this year and I have every confidence that the tournament will continue given the passion and drive of the volunteers.

I was very happy to be able to attend and assist with presentations.
