Fanfare // Strings students from the Sunnybank SHS Instrumental Music Program joined forces with students from Runcorn SHS, to make a combined ensemble, Karawatha Strings, taking part in Fanfare. Students performed 3 pieces, “Declarations”, “Beauteous Spirit” and the showstopper “Gravitas”, which also featured percussion instruments.

Karawatha Strings were awarded the highest result, a Platinum award, with adjudicator David Law commending Sunnybank students regarding their commitment to the joint project, and praising strings teacher Andrew Biedermann for his efforts in making this joint venture happen!

Congratulations Alyssa, Ashley, Jozvena and Nikora!

🏐💚💛 Sunnybank Volleyball Shines at the Intermediate Schools Cup! 💛💚🏐

A huge congratulations to our Year 9 and 10 students who proudly represented Sunnybank State High School at the Intermediate Schools Cup over the weekend.

Our boys' team demonstrated excellent teamwork, determination and resilience throughout the competition, with two matches ending in hard-fought draws. They played some fantastic volleyball, enjoyed the experience, and represented Sunnybank with pride both on and off the court.

Our girls' team showed remarkable growth across the weekend, building confidence and improving with every game. While the results didn't quite go their way this time, they secured several set wins and gained valuable experience that will support their continued development.

We are incredibly proud of the effort, sportsmanship and positive attitude displayed by all students. The future of Sunnybank Volleyball is looking bright!

A special thank you to our families for their ongoing support and encouragement, and to our dedicated staff who generously gave their time to coach, manage, referee, score and support our teams throughout the weekend. Opportunities like these would not be possible without your commitment to our students.

Well done to everyone involved for representing Sunnybank State High School with pride!

🎨🎬 Inspiring Future Creatives!

Our Year 10 Visual Art and Media Arts students recently enjoyed an exciting excursion to the South Bank Creative Precinct, where they visited the Queensland College of Art and Design (QCAD) and Griffith Film School (GFS).

Students toured state-of-the-art facilities, explored innovative creative technologies and learning spaces, and gained valuable insights into future study and career pathways within the creative industries. They also had the opportunity to view outstanding university student work across a range of disciplines, including Visual Art, Photography, Animation, Design and Film.

The experience provided students with a glimpse into the diverse opportunities available in the Arts and encouraged them to start thinking about their own creative futures.

A big thank you to Griffith University for providing such an inspiring and engaging day of learning, creativity and discovery! 🌟
