The Streaky Bay Area School is situated on the pristine coastline of Western Eyre Peninsula. The community's main industries include agriculture, fishing/aquaculture, tourism/hospitality and other service industries. The school's values are care, respect, security, success and trust. Values education is a focus, providing themes which are incorporated into the R - 12 Pastoral Care program. Over the past ten years, the school has been involved in further developing teachers' pedagogical approaches through involvement in projects such as: Thinking skills, Learning to Learn, Success for Boys and the ICT Research Project - 21st Century Learning for Contemporary Classrooms. Currently the school is a John Fleming Lighthouse School and has introduced warm-ups and Explicit Teaching approaches into classrooms. Spanish is the second language that is taught from Reception to Year 8. Streaky Bay Area School has a stormwater recycling wetland and small vineyard, providing students with learning opportunities in horticulture and water conservation/science. The school prides itself on supporting students with their chosen pathways in senior secondary school. We recently had a $1.5 million upgrade of the Home Economics and Technical Studies areas into Trade Training Centres that offer Certificate II competencies in Food and Hospitality, and Building and Construction. We offer a range of subjects including university pathways, Vocational Education and Training options, school-based apprenticeships and traineeships, and distance education subjects.

Dear community members,
My name is Jaliah Johnson and for my Year 10 Exploring Identities & Futures passion project I have chosen to do the cut for cancer fundraiser on October 30th. Challenging myself and other students to raise awareness and raise money for all cancer research, in honour of anyone in this community that has lost a loved one or been impacted by cancer. This is a cause that is important to me and our community and is an opportunity to give back to the organisations that help and support this cause. I have been researching cancer organisations and foundations and would like to involve the community and school in this meaningful project. Below is the link for the school donations page I have created. We have set a goal of $250, but any amount of money raised is a step forward for the cause.

Support me as I Do It For Cancer. Because 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I'm losing my locks to raise funds and show my support. Please sponsor me and support my efforts to give back and change lives!

Following on from our recent Sporting Schools program at Streaky Bay Area School, we’re excited to offer local families the opportunity to get involved in our KickStart and GameReady holiday clinics.
Whether your child tried football through the school program, already plays, or simply wants to give it a go, everyone is welcome!

A fun, action-packed clinic focused on building confidence and developing core football skills through activities, challenges and plenty of small-sided games.
Perfect for younger players and those looking to have fun and enjoy their football!

Year 9/10 mixed netball held at Streaky Bay and District Community Complex courts today.

As part of her community studies Jayda Brougham organised a year 9/10 mixed netball competition with Ceduna Area School.

Streaky team 1 finished 1st, Streaky team 2 finished 3rd.
