Kitchen Cook Wanted – Strathbogie General Store ☕️
At the Strathbogie General Store we’re looking for a kitchen cook to join our small country café team.
This is not a chef position — we’re simply looking for someone who loves cooking and takes pride in making good, home-style food.
Think simple, rustic meals done well — lasagnes, beef stews, curries, quiches, soups, and fresh café-style food made with care.
This is a permanent position, 3–5 days per week, and as we are a 7-day-a-week business, some weekend work will be required.
What the role involves:
Cooking home-style meals in a busy café kitchen
Preparing food for breakfast and lunch service
Keeping an eye on stock and kitchen needs
Working as part of a small, supportive team
Some customer service when needed (serving customers and helping on the till)
Coffee training will be provided, so you’ll be able to jump on the machine when required
Who we’re looking for:
Someone who genuinely enjoys cooking
A person who can work well in a small team
Kind, reliable, and easy to get along with
Happy to help where needed — front or back of house
Comfortable working some weekends on a rotating roster
We’re a small team that works closely together and enjoys coming to work. We’re looking for someone who fits into that same mindset.
