✨ What a night! ✨

Last Friday’s Year 12 Formal at Lake Breeze was nothing short of spectacular. The rain held off, the cars turned heads and the dresses, suits and hairstyles were absolutely beautiful. Most of all, the smiles, laughter and excitement throughout the evening made the night truly unforgettable.

A magical setting, amazing memories and a wonderful group of young people celebrating a milestone together. 💫🎓🚘

Have you met Nala? 🐕
One of the best parts of our 7-12 campus is our Wellbeing Dog, Nala. Our students tell us that there is just something about seeing Nala in the yard at break times or during class visits that makes the day better! Whether it’s a quiet moment together, a good pat, or a game of tug-of-war, Nala is here for our whole school community.
Nala loves to meet families too so if you see her around campus, feel free to say hello.

9-a-side Football Carnival

On Thursday of Week 1, our school proudly took eight teams to compete in the 9-a-side football carnival held at Encounter Bay Oval. With beautiful sunny weather setting the scene for a fantastic day of sport, students enjoyed a highly competitive and entertaining carnival from start to finish.

All of our teams represented the school brilliantly, displaying outstanding teamwork, collaboration, and sportsmanship throughout the day. The standard of football was strong across every division, with players showing determination, skill, and resilience in each match.

There was plenty of exciting footy on display, with fast-paced games, great goals, strong defensive efforts, and excellent team play keeping spectators entertained all day long. Our teams achieved some outstanding results across the carnival, with the Year 8 Boys finishing 3rd overall, the Year 9 Boys placing 2nd, and the Year 10 Boys also finishing 3rd overall. A special congratulations goes to our Year 10–12 Girls team, who were crowned champions after defeating Victor Harbor in an exciting grand final.

Most importantly, students supported one another both on and off the field, creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere across the carnival.

Congratulations to all students involved for their effort, attitude, and commitment. It was a fantastic way to begin the sporting term and a great reflection of our school community.

Room 20’s “Bone Appetit” Business Success

At the beginning of the unit, Room 20 students at 7-12 Campus brainstormed a range of business ideas before deciding to create homemade dog treats — inspired by plenty of enthusiastic comments about Nala! Students explored and trialled different recipes over several weeks, testing their creations with dogs in their lives and gathering feedback to improve the treats.

As the project developed, students investigated pricing, advertising and possible charities to support with their profits. After researching different organisations, the class chose to donate to the CFS, as many students and their families have connections through Cadets, volunteering, or support received during fire events.

Students also practised their persuasive and business writing skills by creating emails to advertise their business and seek orders. Their efforts resulted in close to 50 orders being placed.

By the end of Term 1, Room 20’s class business, Bone Appetit, had successfully produced more than 300 dog treats and raised a total of $187 for the CFS. The students were incredibly proud of this achievement, and they should be commended for the persistence, teamwork and creativity they demonstrated throughout the project.

A huge thank you also goes to the SSOs who supported Room 20 during the process. Their assistance helped the project run smoothly and provided valuable support to the students along the way.
