Are you in a position to donate to our community pantry?

We would be amazingly appreciative of any support to re-stock our toiletry supplies so that we can support community members in need.

Items that are currently low include:

Any donations can be dropped to Mount Barker Community Centre between 9-4 weekdays.

I am very excited to let you know that we will again be hosting our MENOPAUSE DAY RETREAT at Four Seasons Yoga studio and my home on Sunday 31st May 2026.

We feel very grateful to have secured our wonderful guest speakers from our last retreat to come and present again.

This is a day to educate, empower and embrace in a safe, supportive space. To learn from our amazing speakers, from each other, a space to share (as much or as little as you want) to be seen, to be heard.

Did you know South Australia now has a public disclosure scheme through which members of the public may access information about certain child s*x offenders?

The SAPOL Child S*x Offender Register website is now live. Members of the public may:

• view images and details of child s*x offenders who are not complying with their reporting obligations
• apply to view images of serious child s*x offenders living nearby
• apply to check whether a person who has had unsupervised time with their child is a child s*x offender.

Serious penalties apply to the misuse of information gained through the public disclosure scheme.

WIS provides confidential support for women attending the Federal Circuit and
Family Court in Adelaide.

We can also provide support at your lawyer’s office if you have a phone/video-conference hearing, mediation or family conference, including

Sit with you before/during/after the hearing
Offer a listening ear when needed
Keep your personal information and details confidential

Introduce you to WIS for information and referrals about other issues including domestic and s*xual violence, housing options, financial matters and health and well-being.
If you are not using a lawyer and your matter is being help via phone/video-conference it may be possible to do this at our office in the city – please contact us to discuss how we may
be able to assist.

If you’ve ever tried to make friends as an adult, how did you do it? ❤️

Lucille from Hahndorf recently went through a relationship breakdown and, wanting to meet new people, so she posted in a local Adelaide Hills community group asking for ideas on how to connect.

She told 891 ABC Radio Adelaide’s Jo Laverty that the response to her post was overwhelming in the best way. 🥰

“Within 10 minutes of the post going up I had so many comments and messages — it’s just been incredible. I’m definitely going to try some of the ideas people suggested," she said.

“I have such a good feeling about this community now. The outreach has been overwhelming in the best way, and it’s given me the confidence to actually get out there and start meeting new people.”
