An extra science lesson at school today as we had a turtle come for a visit!
In true Broadwater style, we decided to find out why the turtle had appeared, and went down to investigate the now non-existent creek behind the school. The students were very sad to see that the turtles habitat was now reduced to puddles and their water and food source diminished.
We put out some water, gave the turtle a little pat (and washed our hands!) before leaving it to head back down towards the creek on its own accord.
We are truly lucky to have so many wildlife warriors at our school that have respect and admiration for nature and its creatures!
