There's actually 14, I forgot the Somme State School building....
While working on my current build which is a heritage home located in Stanthorpe, I wondered how many models of local buildings I've made over the years, a quick count reveals 13....
8 in Stanthorpe.
3 in Tenterfield.
2 in Warwick and 1 from Wallangarra 👍

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING and GENERAL MEETING

Please note that the Annual General meeting of the Amiens History Assn will be held in the Research Centre at the Amiens Legacy Centre, 17 Goldfields Road, Amiens at 2pm on Saturday, 14th March, 2026 to be followed immediately by a General Meeting. Everyone is welcome so if you are interested in history, people and preserving artefacts please consider coming along to the meeting to suss us out. You will be made to feel very welcome.

When building the Pikedale and showgrounds grandstand model I was quite surprised how many people were interested in our local history, people I didn't really expect, I recieved so many messages, one in particular that stands out was from a young, local tradie who was so interested in not just the models but the history that they brought up in conversation ......
So that said, the Stanthorpe Heritage Museum is holding a Special General Meeting next Wednesday 18th at 7pm in Ardmore House in the grounds of the Museum, the meeting is about planning for the future of the museum, preserving, cataloguing and sharing the history and to gain members and encourage volunteers, so feel free to come along, see you there.
PS, you don't have to be a nerd🙂

I was lucky enough to be approached to reconstruct the Stanthorpe Showgrounds Grandstand in scale model form, it was recently unveiled the 150th Stanthorpe Show, congratulations to everyone involved over the last 150 years that have worked to keep the show alive 🙂
