A huge Thank You to our amazing St Leonards and Indented Head Communities, our Amazing Brigade Volunteers and all the Visitors who have supported us over the past 2 days🙏

We’re incredibly grateful for your generous donations to our Good Friday Appeal collection yesterday, and to everyone who stopped by our BBQ stall at the foreshore market today for an egg & bacon sandwich or a sausage in bread.

Thanks to your support $986 was donated to the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal and
$1258 was raised for our Fire Brigade.

We truly appreciate everyone’s kindness and generosity 🫶

Over the past week, some of our brigade members have deployed as part of ultralight tanker strike teams to fire regions at Mount Mercer and Irrewillipe in the Otways.

Travelling in convoy and working side by side with our neighbouring brigades from Mannerim Fire Brigade, Drysdale Fire Brigade, Queenscliff Fire Brigade, Leopold Fire Brigade and Barwon Heads Fire Brigade.

Crews were tasked with blacking out the southern end of Mount Mercer and along Tomahawk Road at Irrewillipe.
There was even a joey rescued at Mount Mercer by Emma from Mannerim who was then taken to the Anakie Wildlife Shelter to recover.

A vital piece of equipment at the station is our Quick Fill Pump 🚒💦 We use it to draft water and fill our appliances from static sources such as dams, lakes, and even the ocean.

Last night’s training session on the pier focused on building teamwork and confirming the pump is operating exactly as it should.

Brigade members donned their life jackets and pushed the Quick Fill trailer down the pier, running through its operational procedures to stay sharp and ready.

Training like this ensures we’re prepared when it matters most💪👨🏻‍🚒👩‍🚒
