We are very sad to hear that Passive Alert Detection Dog Luka passed away recently after a brief illness.

Luka made a huge mark in his career with QCS, including being a part of the team who stopped approximately $1.2 million worth of drugs destined for Woodford Correctional Centre.

Luka and his handler Nicole also represented the agency at NAIDOC days and provided demonstrations of our Dog Squad capabilities to external stakeholders on several occasions.

He was a favourite among staff and visitors to our centres and was known for his gentle nature and his never-ending mission to sneak pats from anyone willing to give them.

Our condolences go to handler CCO Nicole and everyone who knew and loved him.

Good boy, Luka. You’ll be missed.
