Turbocharge your career in VET with Manufacturing Skills Queensland’s funded Turbocharging the VET Workforce program.

Aimed at supporting the development and delivery of high-quality education and training resources in Queensland’s VET sector, this is your chance to lead skills development and pathways needed for Queensland manufacturing's clean energy transition and advanced manufacturing adoption.

Two funding streams available:

1️⃣Entry stream
Earn a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) to become a qualified VET trainer, delivered by Blueprint Career Development (RTO #30978)

2️⃣Upskill and transition stream
For experienced VET trainers, gain access to advanced engineering diplomas and associate degrees to upgrade qualifications and further your career.

More than 70 high school students from across Southeast Queensland stepped inside Queensland’s innovative manufacturing industry on Wednesday as we hosted our first Modern Methods of Construction Immersion Day at TAFE Eagle Farm!

Designed for Year 9-11 students interested in manufacturing careers, the interact event delved into the technologies, skills and career pathways shaping the future of manufacturing, with a focus on designing and manufacturing Queensland homes of the future.

Students put their creativity and critical thinking to the test, exploring modern construction methods to pitch their own ideas for more efficient, sustainable and accessible housing in Queensland. A tour of the latest technologies and equipment being used throughout the industry was eye opening, showcasing the breadth of innovation occurring.

Students also heard from industry experts John Christie, Kaz Harris-Brow, Alba Berger, and Tanisha Fourie, who shared valuable insights into their careers and the diverse opportunities available across today’s manufacturing industry.

A big thank you to , TAFE Queensland and our guest speakers for helping bring this experience to life and inspiring the next generation of manufacturing talent.

A group of students from Nanango State High School recently got the chance to step inside the manufacturing industry and explore the wide array of career opportunities available after taking part in an industry tour day hosted by Manufacturing Skills Queensland.

Showcasing the breadth of sectors that make up Queensland’s manufacturing industry, students spent the day touring Volvo Trucks Australia, The Drake Group and PWR Advanced Cooling Technology, walking through their facilities to witness manufacturing in action and hearing from industry leaders about the roles, skills and processes that make up day-to-day operations.

We are pleased to be able to deliver industry tours to Gateway to Industry Schools across Queensland and facilitate opportunities for school students to connect with outstanding local manufacturers driving the industry forward to broaden their understanding of potential career pathways.

Last week, Manufacturing Skills Queensland hosted a cohort of international students based in Queensland for the Study Queensland Manufacturing Industry Discovery tour at the Manufacturing Centre of Excellence.

Showcasing the breadth of diverse opportunities and occupations available across the Queensland manufacturing industry, the tour was an opportunity for the students to build relationships with local employers and industry representatives, witness manufacturing in action through a site tour of the facility and get a hands-on look at the current and future skills and roles shaping industry through VR experiences. MSQ's Industry Engagement Manager, Su Kulk also delivered a presentation on the innovative, exciting career pathways available with forward-thinking manufacturers helping to build Queensland.

A big thank you to Study Queensland and all employers who came along and participated in engaging conversations with the students.
