The Gold Coast Community Legal Centre & Advice Bureau Inc is a non-profit community organisation that provides advice, assistance, information and referral to the Gold Coast community. This service is completely free of charge and not subject to any kind of means test.
Our organisation has come to be known simply as "The CAB" over time and has now been servicing the Gold Coast for more than 30 years. From very humble beginnings in a small space generously provided by the City of Gold Coast we have grown to one occupying modern, easily accessible premises and comprising of more than 25 volunteers, 6 solicitors and various support staff. All our staff and volunteers are dedicated to ensuring that the entire Gold Coast is serviced - from Yatala & Jacobs Well in the north to Coolangatta in the south and extending out to our hinterland suburbs in the west.
Apart from the community information provided by our dedicated volunteers, our legal services are in very heavy demand. For full information about these services please refer to our website or page, visit our office or ring our friendly volunteers on the front counter.
The Gold Coast Community Guide contains approximately 2,400 entries and is regarded as the most accurate and up-to-date source of information about community organisations on the Gold Coast. Whilst we are able to "Google" just about anything on the internet nowadays, at times some of the information on various web pages can be inaccurate, or out of date, or otherwise unreliable, unlike the information in the Guide.
Our thanks go to the City of Gold Coast for publishing the Guide and to all the representatives, clubs, etc who contact us with new or updated details.
As well as the printed version the Guide is also available on our website - www.advicebureau.org.au - in an easy to navigate format.

Congratulations to our Volunteer of the Month for June 2014 - Barbara. Rostered days - Wednesday & Friday afternoons. Time volunteering - since March 2008.
Barbara is a long-standing volunteer with our Centre and is involved in multiple aspects of the work we do. About 3 years ago, Barbara joined the volunteer group of people who research, compile and produce the Community Resource Directory. This requires Barbara to volunteer her time, roughly 7 hours per week, tirelessly working on updating the Directory.
Additionally, Barbara enjoys making a contribution to something worthwhile and expanding her knowledge by volunteering two afternoons a week on reception. She is also a member of our Management Committee and has been for the last 5 years. She brings fresh ideas and energy to her volunteer roles with us.
Barbara is a much valued member of our team and contributions like hers allow us to continue to the work that we do.
The Centre appreciates you and all that you do! Thank you.

Special thanks to Natalie - front desk volunteer Monday afternoons. She came to our rescue by tirelessly working most days for the past two weeks editing, tidying up, etc the CRD database for final publication purposes - all finished well before our deadline. Thank you so much Natalie. Very much appreciated. You did a great job!!
