💙 Happy Father’s Day! 💙

South Johnstone State School would like to wish all of the wonderful fathers, grandfathers, stepdads and special father figures in our children’s lives a very Happy Father’s Day! 🌟

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for our Father’s Day celebration on Thursday afternoon. It was lovely to see so many families come together, enjoy the beautiful sunshine, share some delicious food and, most importantly, spend some special time together. ☀️🍰💙

We hope all of our dads and special people feel appreciated today for the love, guidance, encouragement and support they give each and every day.

🍫🎭✨ WOW, OH WOW… WHAT A SHOW! ✨🎭🍫

Today our South Johnstone State School students had the absolute pleasure of attending Innisfail State College’s production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory — and we were completely BLOWN AWAY! 🤩👏

From the moment the show began, our students were captivated! The acting, singing, dancing, costumes, sets, lighting and special effects were simply incredible. 🎶🍭✨

A HUGE congratulations to the talented student cast who took to the stage with such confidence and enthusiasm, the amazing orchestra who brought the production to life through music, and the hardworking crew and backstage team who made all that theatre magic happen! 🎺🎻🎬

We also know that a production of this size doesn’t happen without an enormous amount of work behind the scenes. To the teachers, staff, families, volunteers and everyone who contributed countless hours to creating such a wonderful experience — THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS! 👏💐

This excursion was extra special for our students as it connected perfectly with our Drama learning this term. What better way to learn about characters, performance, movement, voice, costumes, sets and storytelling than to see them all come together LIVE on stage! 🎭

Innisfail State College, you should be incredibly proud! What a showcase of student talent, creativity, teamwork and dedication.

🎭💙 A BIG & EXCITING DAY TOMORROW! 💙🎭

Tomorrow is a big and exciting day for our South Johnstone students, with lots happening throughout the day!

🚌 Musical Excursion – Innisfail State College
Our bus will leave South Johnstone State School at 9:00am to travel to Innisfail State College to enjoy the musical.

⏰ Please have students at school by 8:45am so we are ready to depart on time.

👕 Students must wear their full school uniform.

🍱 Lunch reminder:
Students will need to bring a packed lunch with them. There will be no fridges available to store lunch boxes, so please do not pack cold foods unless you include an ice brick to keep their lunch cool.

🏫 We will return to school at approximately 1:45pm.

💙 Father’s Day Celebration – 2:00pm
Once we return, we will be welcoming our Dads, Grandads and special male figures into our school at 2:00pm to celebrate Father’s Day together.

It’s going to be a wonderful day filled with music, fun and celebration! 🎶💙

We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow!

And we welcome you all back to school on Monday the 7th Sept as Friday is a Student Free Day.

📚🎶 BOOK WEEK 2026 – SYMPHONY OF STORIES! 🎶📚

What a wonderful way to finish our Book Week 2026 celebrations at South Johnstone State School! 🌟

Our final day was filled with books, laughter, adventure and plenty of fun! Students arrived excitedly dressed as some of their favourite book characters, and it was terrific to see their creativity and enthusiasm for the wonderful world of literature. 📖✨

We kicked off the celebrations with a book-themed dance party 💃🕺 before putting our book knowledge to the test with a Book Scavenger Hunt around our school library! Students searched high and low, matching passages from familiar stories to their correct book titles. 🔎📚

Next, we headed over to Chap Chappa Park for a very entertaining and interactive storytelling session of Wombat Stew! 🐨🥘 Students joined in with the story, bringing this much-loved Australian classic to life.

Of course, no trip to the park would be complete without enjoying the beautiful sunshine and some well-earned playtime on the equipment! ☀️🛝

What a fantastic way to celebrate this year’s Book Week theme, “Symphony of Stories” — sharing stories, dressing as favourite characters, exploring books and, most importantly, celebrating the joy that reading can bring. ❤️📚

✨ Remember: the more you read, the more you will know! ✨

Books are always available at school, and we encourage every student to find a story that sparks their imagination, takes them on an adventure and allows them to get lost in a good book! 📖🌈

🎭🍫 Excursion Reminder – Thursday 🍫🎭

A reminder to families that our students are heading on an exciting excursion this Thursday to see Innisfail State College’s school musical production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! 🎩🍬✨

This is a wonderful opportunity for our students and ties in perfectly with the Drama learning happening at school. We can’t wait for them to experience a live theatrical performance and see all the elements of Drama come together on stage!

Please ensure students:
• 👕 Wear full school uniform
• 🧢 Bring their school hat
• 👟 Wear closed-in shoes

We are looking forward to a fantastic day filled with music, drama, imagination and a little Wonka magic! 🍭🎶🎭
