Meet Donna 🎉

From serving lunch to hundreds of students at Albury Public School to helping bring Outside Broadcasts to life on weekends for local radio stations Triple M The Border and Hit104.9 The Border, no two days are ever quite the same for Donna.

While singing was a small part of Donna's childhood, it's been some time since she last performed, making On Key 4 Kids both a personal challenge and an exciting trip down memory lane.

After being nominated by her husband Al, and supported every step of the way by their children Jackson and Sophie, as well as the wonderful students at Albury Public, Donna didn't hesitate when the opportunity arose to get involved this year.

Her reason for taking part is deeply personal.

In 2022, the family's world was turned upside down when Jackson was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour that also triggered focal seizures. What followed were countless trips away from home, specialist appointments and long periods of uncertainty.

The financial strain, time away from work, pressure on family life and the impact on their young daughter, who wasn't old enough to fully understand what was happening, created challenges they faced every day.

When Jackson underwent brain surgery over Christmas that year, Donna took several weeks away from work to be by his side. Having moved to Albury only six months earlier, the family didn't know Country Hope existed. Looking back, Donna says the support Country Hope provides would have made an enormous difference during one of the toughest times of their lives.

That's why she's proud to be part of On Key 4 Kids.

"I want to help raise awareness of the incredible work Country Hope does, so that other families facing similar circumstances know where to turn for support and don't have to navigate those challenges alone.

"If sharing my story and stepping onto the stage can help even one family find the support they need, it will be worth every moment."

Sport Uniform

If you are representing APS at a school sporting event, including PSSA Sport and Gala Days, students are required to wear full school sports uniform. Students who are provided a playing jersey may wear it under their APS Sports Uniform polo shirt.

As per the school’s Uniform Policy, students may wear Riverina or NSW State Representative apparel on a Friday, but, not wear it to participate in as students are representing Albury PS, not Riverina.

Students participating in AFL must wear appropriate playing shorts that do not have pockets due to health and safety reasons. These shorts may be worn under a student's APS Sport's Uniform or brought in their school bag. Student's will be provided the opportunity to change into their playing shorts prior to leaving school. There is flexibility in this area at the moment, while our school looks at an appropriate school short option that has no pockets.

Students should be wearing school socks – either the short ones or blue and gold football socks. Blue and gold football socks are currently on sale at Lowes for $6.95
