Flashback Friday 🎞️

A fascinating look back at a very different chapter in the history of Somers School Camp.

After serving as an RAAF training base during World War II, the site was transformed into a holiday resort known as “Feature Holidays - Somers By The Sea.”

The resort operated for only a couple of seasons before the site became a migrant holding centre in 1949, and eventually Somers School Camp, with the first camp held in 1959.

It’s pretty amazing to see the same place we know today being used in such a completely different way.
