Some new additions arrived yesterday, three new steers, with more in the pipeline for arrival soon!

You asked for more supply - we listened

What a big few days we’ve had, with more big days ahead of us!

Thankfully we’ve been blessed with some sunshine though to help dry up some of the mud and finish off deshedding some winter coats, but with some more rain on the way it’s about to get muddy again, but at least we’ve enjoyed having some time to get some coat work done on some animals 🌧️

8 animals done for the day with the littlest left till last, and what a sweetie she was - lots of kisses given to Tahlia while trying to clip the underside of the neck 😂

Thanks Jarrod and Fiona for having up again to work on your team, we are quickly falling in love with them all! We can’t wait to see them out and about during the Spring season 🌸

‘Little Debbie’ is one of our younger cows who has recently calved an early May Michaelong Solid Gold bull calf unassisted (AI joined). Bull calf included in the sale if desired, or Little Debbie is available for delivery/pick up upon weaning in January.
Ready to rejoin.

Halter broken but unfortunately never made it to a show as she inherited her mother’s temperament and does not tolerate a nose clip. She is able to be scratched in the paddock and is easy to lead with just a halter.

As we make room for some new additions shortly we are moving on some of our girls, and first up is one of our juniors.

‘Little Linda’ as we call her was purchased as the calf at foot of ‘Big Linda’ at the recent Cratloe dispersal sale. She’s a long bodied heifer with great feet and smooth shoulder. She is ready to join to the purchasers bull of choice.

Unfortunately she does not have the temperament required to be a suitable show heifer, so was moved to our breeding herd, and as such we recommend her as a stud or commercial breeder, and not a show animal.

Sire: Cratloe Roderick
MGBCS registered and MGAA eligible.
Inspections available.

We traded ‘muddy and miserable’ for ‘muddy and magnificent’ yesterday and headed up north to our friends at Korella Murray Greys to inspect the junior herd!

Two and a bit weeks on and Vibe and her ‘pretend baby’ are thriving and ready to head out of the dog pen and back into the herd!

Fully unassisted feeding that is now natural for the pair instead of being a fright for Vibe, and NAG (‘Not A Grey’) is starting to show her personality more each day.

While it wasn’t the textbook perfect calving we had hoped for Vibe, it’s been a happy ending for her and a baby that needed a mumma 🩵

Who else love delivery day?

We thought it was time to get the show season signage sorted for this year, especially as we updated our logo earlier this year and our previous signage was looking a bit rough and tired. We can’t wait to hit the shows and catch up with our friends, and meet new ones!

Our new large set of clippers and also our new small set has also arrived, just in time for the pre-Melbourne clips for our team and our clients. This opens up our books to larger numbers of cattle on clipping days which we are excited for!

Vibe and her adopted calf are starting to do well, one week on from the worst day we’ve ever had.

The little heifer calf has worked out drinking from the udder, and Vibe has accepted this new way of life provided she has good snacks.

These two will remain together in the dog run until we are sure the cow-calf bond has developed before letting them out with some of the others.
