***IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM HB MAR MEELIS ZAIA CONCERNING THE STAY-AT-HOME LOCKDOWN***
Dear Beloved members of the Assyrian Church of the East in Sydney,
We pray you are keeping safe and well during these difficult times.
The church takes this opportunity to reinforce the current “stay at home” lockdown restrictions which are in place by NSW Health. We stress that this is a STAY AT HOME lockdown. Meaning you will need to stay home at all costs, unless you need to leave your home for absolute essentials.
The COVID-19 virus has hit home, with a number of our very own Assyrian community members now infected and severely ill in ICU. Let us keep them in prayer for a speedy recovery.
If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms or have been in the presence of someone with flu-like symptoms, please get tested just to be safe. You can get tested at the Fairfield Showground.
Once again, we ask that everyone abides by the stay at home lockdown laws in order to beat the virus and resume normality in society. This means NO visiting relatives, not inviting family, friends and relatives over your own house. Please cooperate with the police as they are doing their job to ensure health and safety for you and the whole community.
Let us pray. Peace be with us.
Assyrian Church,
Sydney

Fairfield Showground‏.‏

Favourable winds and humidity has so far kept the fire danger at High over the weekend. Tomorrow, high temperatures along with low humidity and strong winds will push Greater Sydney into Very High Fire Danger.

Review your bush fire survival plan with your family. Keep yourself informed and monitor conditions. Be ready to act if necessary.
