📢 KING’S BIRTHDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY – COUNCIL FACILITY + SERVICES

A number of Singleton Council facilities will be closed for the King’s Birthday public holiday on Monday 8 June 2026, including:

• Council Administration Building
• Singleton Public Library
• Children’s Services (OOSH + Colleen Gale)
• Singleton Animal Management Facility
• Singleton Arts + Cultural Centre
• Singleton Youth Venue

Council Ranger Services will resume on Tuesday 9 June.

🐾 Animals at the Singleton Animal Management Facility will continue to be cared for as part of normal operations.

🚨 For emergency situations such as dog attacks or stock on roads, please contact NSW Police. Please note: stray dogs are not considered an emergency.

The following Council services and facilities will remain OPEN on Monday 8 June:

♻️ Singleton Waste Management Facility | 9am – 4.30pm
🗑️ Kerbside waste collections operating as normal
📍 Singleton Visitor Information Centre | 10am – 3pm
🏊 Singleton Gym + Swim | 10am – 4pm

🎨 Passionate about arts and culture in Singleton?

Singleton Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from community members to fill two volunteer positions on the Singleton Arts + Culture Advisory Group for a two-year term.

In line with the Group’s Terms of Reference, one position is reserved for a community member who identifies as a person with disability.

The Advisory Group plays an important role in supporting the delivery of the Arts and Culture Strategy 2020–2030, helping to celebrate and strengthen arts, culture and heritage across the Singleton LGA.

Members will help:
✨ support arts and cultural initiatives
✨ provide advice and recommendations to Council
✨ promote and celebrate local arts, culture and heritage
✨ strengthen connections across the creative community
✨ contribute to the future direction of arts and culture in Singleton

The Group meets at least four times each year.

📩 Expressions of Interest should outline your relevant experience and why you would like to join the Advisory Group.

This male staffy was handed into Council’s Animal Management Facility at the end of last week. He is microchipped, but his details aren’t up to date, so our Rangers have been unable to locate his owner.

At its meeting of 21 April 2026, Council resolved to exhibit the following documents from 28 April to 4 June for community feedback.

➡️ DRAFT CONSTRUCTION WORKERS ACCOMMODATION POLICY

The purpose of the Draft Construction Workers Accommodation Policy is to provide guiding principles to developers seeking to construct, manage and operate Construction Workers Accommodation within the Singleton Local Government Area (LGA).

➡️ DRAFT ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURE ON COUNCIL LAND POLICY

The purpose of the Draft Electric Vehicle Charging on Infrastructure on Council Land Policy is to provide guiding principles to prospective providers and Council for the installation, operation and management of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure on Public Land in the Singleton LGA.

➡️ DRAFT EVENT PROMOTION POLICY

The purpose of the Draft Event Promotion Policy to provide clear, transparent and consistent guidelines for the promotion of events within the Singleton Local Government Area (LGA) through Council communication channels.

➡️ DRAFT HARDSHIP POLICY

The purpose of the Draft Hardship Policy to provide a framework for responding to applications from owners/ratepayers and customers experiencing genuine hardship with the payment of their rates, water, annual charges and fees.

Community feedback closes on Thursday 4 June 2026 📅 Submissions may be made in writing to the General Manager, PO Box 314 Singleton 2330 or emailed to E [email protected]

Each draft document will be adopted following the public exhibition period, provided that no submissions or objections are received or that no alterations are required to the draft document. Should any objections or submissions be received or alterations be required, a further report will be presented to Council in relation to the subject draft document.

DETAILED ROAD INSPECTION | Ryan Avenue, Singleton

Singleton Council has engaged Douglas Partners to carry out investigation of the current state of Ryan Avenue.

The works will involve three days of activities over two weeks, including service locating and bore hole sampling.

Ryan Avenue is a critical road thoroughfare in Singleton and is used daily by by mine and rural-associated vehicles.

The investigations are to determine the strength and capacity of the surface and subgrade of the road.

📆 Works will take place between 7am – 5pm on Monday 1 June, Tuesday 9 June and Wednesday 10 June 2026.

🚧 Traffic control will be in place along Ryan Avenue.

🌧️ Due to ongoing wet weather, the following Council sports fields will remain CLOSED this weekend, up until Sunday 31 May 2026.

Council will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates once fields these fields are safe to reopen.

The following sports fields will be OPEN this weekend:

These temporary closures are important to help protect playing surfaces and keep our fields in the best possible condition for everyone.
