Monday the 11th of May was "Are You Safe at Home? Day"

An opportunity to ask someone in your life, "are you safe at home?".

This year, start a conversation to end family violence.

Wallan Police did just that!

They attended Wellington Square RAKa's Cafe with Rose from Mitchell Shire Council and Emma from NCLC (Northern Community Legal Centre) to enjoy a free coffee and speak to the public about Family Violence.

Thank you to everyone who stopped and had a chat and all that attended for this great initiative.

Stolen tools are often on-sold through online marketplaces, and tradies often know what to look for.

That information can make a real difference.

If you’ve got information, report it anonymously to Crime Stoppers Victoria on 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppersvic.com.au.

It helps police identify offenders, hold them to account and return tools to the right owners.

Thieves don’t need your keys. They break in, plug into your OBD port, and drive off.

To block access, install an OBD port lock.

Other ways you can slow them down include:
⛔ Steering wheel lock = a visible deterrent
⛔ Faraday pouch = added protection at home

Police have seen an increase in thefts from motor vehicles, including stolen number plates.

To help protect your vehicle, we encourage the use of anti-theft screws on your registration plates.

These are available from local police stations, Bunnings, and most auto retailers.

Taking this simple step can help reduce property-related crime and improve community safety.
