The team worked together to secure a drifting vessel, helping prevent potential damage to other vessels. 🚤⚓️

Fantastic teamwork and a great effort from everyone involved.
A wash down of the Rescue boat, then off to have dinner and a well deserved rest.

MRQ Round Hill - working Hard to Get Back on the Air!

It’s been a busy weekend for the team at MRQ Round Hill!
Our focus was radio assessments, with a big thank you to Steve and the MRQ Bundaberg crew for their help and support as we work towards getting back on air as soon as possible.

We also conducted on-water training with our up-and-coming Senior Crew and put our new headsets to the test! A huge thank you to the Collin Boyce Grant for helping make these new headsets possible.

At MRQ Round Hill, we’re continually working to improve our skills, equipment and readiness to support our local boating community. 💙

TRADIES WANTED - MRQ ROUND HILL
MRQ Round Hill is seeking licensed tradies to provide quotes for upcoming works involving the shed / base extension and radio room.

SHED BUILDER
- 3 Bay Shed to house equipment.

ELECTRICAL WORK
- Tag & Test for the radio room, base & vessel.
- Electrical work and power installation for the new shed/base extensions.

PLUMBING WORK
- Connect the base to mains water.
- Supply and install a toilet at the radio room, including connection to town sewerage.

🚤 One Coast. One Crew. One MRQ. 🌊

MRQ Gladstone and MRQ Round Hill worked together again — and what a great result!

With Gladstone on the radios and Round Hill’s rescue vessel on the water, our teams worked seamlessly together to bring home a vessel that couldn’t make the journey under its own steam.

Another great example of teamwork, communication and looking out for our boating community.

Attention Mariners: Sunken vessel - Round Hill Creek, 1770

Mariners are advised that a sunken vessel is obstructing the channel at Round Hill Creek, 1770.

All skippers and waterway users are advised to navigate the area with extreme caution - approximate position is latitude 24°10.208’S longitude 151°52.713’E.

A lit yellow buoy has been placed next to the vessel to alert skippers and assist in safe navigation.

Maritime Safety Queensland is preparing a Notice to Mariners and are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. The vessel is believed to be free of any fuel or oils, and there are no visible signs of pollution or contaminants.

What a year it has been!
VMR transitioned to MRQ 1 year ago today.
Our little unit at Round Hill has grown so fast.
Our team have been working hard training all the new members so that we can continue to help our boating community into the future.

☀️ MRQ Round Hill took full advantage of some spectacular weather to get out on the water and train in Pancake Creek!

We were rewarded with an incredible Mum and Calf Whale sighting 🐋, along with plenty of Dolphins 🐬, while putting our skills to the test.

The session covered leads, markers, towing, rafting and general navigation — combining practical training with an unforgettable day on the water.

What a way to learn! 🌊⚓️

🚤 MRQ Round Hill doing what we do best — helping our boating public! 🛟
It was the first activation for two of our members, Louise and Mark, and what a great way to get out there and lend a hand.

With support from MRQ Gladstone, we headed out to Pancake Creek to assist one of our local 1770 boaters.

It’s all about looking out for our boating community and making sure everyone gets home safely. 💙

Growing our radio skills!

Some of our up-and-coming radio operators recently headed to Bundy for some radio training - and they had an absolute ball!

They learnt so much, gained valuable hands-on experience, and are now even more excited about continuing to develop their skills and progress within the team.

A huge thank you to Bundy for your continued support and for helping our team grow and learn. We truly appreciate everything you do for us!

Our team are super excited about what's ahead!
