Sarah Luscombe - Councillor for Coastal Ward, City of Marion

Sarah Luscombe - Councillor for Coastal Ward, City of Marion Coastal Ward Councillor, City of Marion. Authorised by S Luscombe, PO Box 82 Seacliff Park SA 5049. Hi, I’m Sarah Luscombe. Views are my own. Authorised by: S.

Views on this page are my own, not necessarily those of council. I’m your local Coastal Ward Councillor in the Marion Council. The Coastal Ward is a great place to live. Whether it’s our pristine coastal environment, our quiet residential streets, or our strong sense of community, there’s a reason we’ve all come together in this community. I’m a local Hallett Cove resident, having bought my house

here in 2009. I’m a mum, a clinical psychologist, a gardener, a community volunteer, and a dog owner. Let's keep making the Coastal Ward a place where community matters and where we protect our environment. I'm here to act fairly and in our local interests. As your voice on council, I'll make sure community stays at the heart of what we do. That means supporting our sports teams and community groups with proper funding. It means reducing rubbish and waste in our creeks and waterways. It means making sure our disabled and elderly residents can get around easily. And it means more green public spaces and thriving local businesses where we can enjoy the community we all love. My values and priorities which will help me to deliver positive outcomes for our local area include:

- Fairness, honesty, equality, and social justice
- Environmental and ecological sustainability
- Community belonging, participation and inclusion

As your ward councillor, my vision includes building on local community services, clubs, activities and ways to get involved in our community; looking after our environment; improving action against climate change; better waste and recycling management; and improving opportunities for small businesses to flourish in our area. Luscombe, PO Box 82, Seacliff Park SA 5049

✨️♻️ Soft plastics recycling is BACK!! ♻️✨️

💗 What an exciting Mother's Day present today to see soft plastics recycling back in all metro Woolworths supermarkets in South Australia!
💗 Hallett Cove Woolies now have drop-off bins at the front of the store (to the left of the supermarket entrance) for clean and dry soft plastics.
💗 We can now drop off plastic packaging that’s scrunchable and floppy.

Think items like:
✅ Bread bags
✅ Chip packets
✅ Frozen food bags
✅ Biscuit wrappers
✅ Chocolate wrappers
✅ Cereal liners

What can't go in?
❌ Compostable bags: place these in your green organics bin
❌ Biodegradable plastic bags: place these in your red landfill bin
❌ Rigid plastics: recycle these in your recycling bin.

♻️ In partnership with Soft Plastics Stewardship Australia, the collected soft plastics will be recycled into new products such as building materials and food grade packaging, helping to create a circular economy.

We enjoyed a relaxing meditation and yoga session, immersed in the sunset, sounds of the waves, and fresh ocean breeze. What a treat! 🌅🌊

I have put a link in the comments for more information about upcoming Wellbeing in the Park events across our council 🏞

I received an email from a resident called Joshua who has a strong interest in councils and their logos, especially the Marion one! He asked if I might be able to send him some Marion brochures. Hope you enjoy them, Joshua! 😊

Great article, Zane. As we celebrate Youth Week, it's an opportune time to consider how we genuinely support young people to play a key role in planning our future.

Zane was chair of the City of Marion Youth Collective Committee for some time, and also participated in the City if Marion gap year program.

Stop "managing" youth issues and start investing in young people struggling with growing anxieties keeping them awake at night.
