This morning, some of our Student Leaders attended a Leadership Breakfast hosted by Sandgate District State High School.

As part of the session, students completed a personality survey based on the Myers-Briggs framework, helping them to learn more about their individual strengths, preferences and leadership styles. It was a valuable opportunity for our students to reflect on how different personalities contribute to effective teamwork and leadership.

Thank you to Sandgate District State High School for providing this engaging learning experience for our student leaders. We look forward to seeing them apply their new insights back at school!

Have you heard??? It’s National Chaplaincy Week!! To celebrate our very own Chappy Troy we are raising money for Art Supplies and resources for Term 3. The more money we raise - the more teachers get slimed! If we raise $1500 our very own Principal Mrs Blake will be slimed at Week 10 Assembly! We will be collecting money daily at the office.

What a fantastic week celebrating the joy of reading!

Students enjoyed this year's National Simultaneous Storytime story, Luna Roo, with our local librarians helping bring the story to life. Our Year 1 students also made the most of the beautiful weather, heading outdoors to soak up the sunshine and enjoy reading in nature.

One of the highlights of the week was our Year 6 students joining Year 1 for buddy reading. It was wonderful to see our school leaders sharing their love of reading while building connections with their younger peers 📖💛

This week, Sandgate State School proudly welcomed a kindy class excursion to our Prep A classroom, with another exciting visit to our Prep B classroom planned for next week. Our visitors this week were from Sandgate Kids Early Education - Nash Street.

These visits provide a wonderful opportunity for kindy students to explore our junior school, visit a Prep classroom, and discover some of the similarities and differences between kindy and Prep. A highlight of the day was meeting Sandy, our much-loved school mascot!

At Sandgate State School, we value opportunities like these that help support positive and confident transitions from kindy to school. We look forward to welcoming more future students to our school community.

🖤💛❤️ National Reconciliation Week 2026 ❤️💛🖤

This week, Sandgate State School proudly acknowledges National Reconciliation Week — a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to reflect on how we can contribute to reconciliation in our everyday actions.

The 2026 theme, “Bridging Now to Next,” encourages us to continue building respectful relationships and working together towards a more united future.

Throughout the week, students and staff will engage in learning and conversations that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and perspectives, while recognising the importance of respect, understanding and connection within our school community.

🏉 STATE OF ORIGIN FREE DRESS DAY – TOMORROW! 💙❤️

Students are invited to wear their favourite State of Origin colours tomorrow for a free dress day! Whether you’re cheering for the Maroons or the Blues, we can’t wait to see the school spirit on display.

Please bring along a gold coin donation, with funds raised by Student Council in conjunction with our P&C going towards new water coolers for our school. 💧
