Northlakes Public School This is the official Northlakes Public School page. These varied activities foster the all round development of students attending the school.

Northlakes Public School serves a community which supports their children in academic, sporting and performing arts activities. The school focuses on a positive environment in which the endeavours of staff and parents are relevant to the needs of students. The curriculum is implemented from six key learning area documents using Department of Education, Board of Studies and school based resources, to provide learning experiences which utilise pupil-centred teaching and learning strategies. EMERGENCY EVACUATION PRACTICE

Today, Northlakes Public School conducted a practice emergency evacuation to ensure our students and staff are familiar with our emergency procedures.

We are very proud of how calmly and responsibly our students responded. All students followed staff instructions, moved safely to the designated assembly areas and demonstrated excellent behaviour throughout the drill.

These practice drills are an important part of keeping our school community safe and prepared.

Well done, Northlakes students! You did a fantastic job!

YANA GULGUL

Recently, our Stage 3 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students visited Toukley Public School for Yana Gulgul.

They enjoyed a wonderful range of cultural activities and experiences, celebrating culture, connection and community. Students participated in yarning circles, cultural games, tie-dye, bush to dish cooking, dance and beading, providing opportunities to learn, create, share and connect with culture in meaningful ways.

It was fantastic to see our students embracing each experience with enthusiasm, pride and respect.

AUTHOR VISIT - JADE GOODWIN

Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students were so excited to meet the incredibly talented and creative illustrator, Jade Goodwin!

Our students loved exploring Jade’s beautiful illustrations and learning about the different techniques she uses to create her artwork. Jade taught us how to draw a crocodile and inspired us to use our imaginations by transforming simple scribbles into amazing works of art!

We also played a fun game of True or False to learn more about Jade, before enjoying a reading of her wonderful new book, Goorramindi the Crocodile.

We are incredibly grateful to Jade for sharing her time, enthusiasm and passion for illustration with our students. It was a wonderful and inspiring visit!

FATHER'S DAY STALL

Our Father's Day Stall will be held on Tuesday 1 September 2026. Students will have the opportunity to choose a special gift for their dad, grandad, or another special person.

Gifts available: $5 gifts & $10 gifts

How to purchase:

- Flexischools: Vouchers can be purchased through the Flexischools App until 5:00pm Monday 31 August 2026.
- On the day: Cash and EFTPOS will also be accepted at the stall.

We look forward to helping our students choose a special gift to celebrate the wonderful fathers and special people in their lives!
