Join communities across East Gippsland as we come together to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2026 from 5–11 July!

This year's program features a range of events for all ages, including flag raising ceremonies, cultural celebrations, family fun days, community gatherings, the annual NAIDOC March, and the highly anticipated GEGAC NAIDOC Ball.

NAIDOC Week provides an opportunity for everyone to learn about, celebrate and acknowledge the oldest continuing cultures in the world while strengthening connections within our communities.

Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate 50 Years of Deadly with us.

Originally from Malaysia, Dr Pamela brings years of experience in ICU, Emergency Medicine and General Practice across Malaysia and Australia.

🎓 Diploma in Family Medicine (DFM), ic FRACGP and currently doing her GP Training from Rural Vocational Training Scheme (RVTS)

Special interests include:
• Chronic Disease Management
• Women’s Health
• Mental Health
• Preventive & Holistic Care

Eligibility Criteria

· Nominees must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander

· Live in the Wellington Shire

· A written description of 200 words or less of why the nominee deserves the award

· Nominations must be received by close of business on 12th June.

Award Categories:

1. Sportsperson of the Year (Any age)

2. Elder of the Year (aged 60+)

3. Youth of the Year (5-17years)

4. Community Person of the Year (aged 17+)

5. Educational/Academic Achievement (School or Work related)

Note:

* Only one person will be a recipient of each award.

* Only one nomination per form.

* Winners of awards will be announced during NAIDOC week and recipients will be contacted directly.

Yoowinna Wurnalung Aboriginal Healing Service warmly invites all Elders to come together for a day of connection, culture, yarning and support within community.

This gathering is about strengthening relationships between community and services, sharing practical information around safety and supports, and creating a safe space for our Elders to yarn, connect and feel supported.
