Rosny College is a senior secondary college in Hobart, Tasmania and is an inspiring and empowering learning community. We maximise the diverse learning outcomes of our students by providing high-quality teaching in which you will be supported in developing and achieving your goals. We cater for all students who wish to continue their education; however, our prime target group is the students moving from Year 10 into Years 11 and 12 and we welcome them regardless of their ability. Rosny College offers to all students challenge, excitement and reward and allows you to develop new friendships. It can set you on your pathway to a future career or further education! The current principal of Rosny College is Andrew Woodham.

ROSNY OUT AND ABOUT
Recently, our VET Maritime students attended the Australian Maritime College to complete their Elements of Shipboard Safety course.

Throughout the course, students developed the skills and knowledge needed to respond effectively to emergencies at sea, gaining valuable hands-on experience in maritime safety procedures.

🏀 Rosny College at the College Basketball Championships 🏀

Over the weekend of the , RC Blue and RC Gold travelled to Launceston to compete in Division 2 of the College Basketball Championships.

A huge congratulations to both teams on the way they represented Rosny College. There was plenty of resilience, teamwork, sportsmanship and College spirit on display throughout the weekend.

🔵 RC Blue — 4 wins from 5 games

RC Blue had an impressive weekend, with their only loss a narrow one to Don College, who went on to win the Division 2 Championship.

The team had to dig deep at times, including the tough back-to-back game against Don, with plenty of clutch moments along the way!

🟡 RC Gold — 2 wins from 4 games

RC Gold also competed strongly throughout the weekend, with several close contests and some great improvement as the tournament progressed. Despite a tough draw and losing players to injury, the team continued to battle hard.

A big thank you to the families who travelled to Launceston to support the teams, with many parents volunteering as match managers. A special shoutout to coach Chris for supporting RC Blue over the weekend.

🎓🌟Rosny Alumni Spotlight 🌟🎓
From VET to the Film & Television Industry!

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the success of three young Rosny College Screen and Media professionals who recently took part in the Apple Box 48hr Short Film Competition.

Bella, Jacob and Charlie - successfully completed their Certificate III in Screen and Media at Rosny in 2025. All three have since secured employment within the screen and media industry:

Bella – ABC Hobart
Jacob – Hype Productions
Charlie – Channel 7 Hobart

A extra congratulations to Charlie, who also took home the Best Sound award in the competition!

These success stories highlight the value of choosing a VET course (Vocational Education and Training). VET courses are designed to provide students with practical, industry-relevant skills and prepare them for employment in their chosen field.

Seeing graduates move from completing their qualifications into employment within the industry is a fantastic reminder of the opportunities that can come from practical, hands-on training.

Congratulations to Bella, Jacob, Charlie and Lucas — we’re proud to see you putting your skills into practice and building careers in the screen and media industry!
