🐴 Saddling Up for Some Fun in Year One! 🐴

This term, our Year One students have been learning all about information texts, and this week their focus has been all things horses! 🐎

Thanks to Mrs Donnelly, students had the opportunity to explore a real horse saddle and horseshoes. Both Year One classes joined together for some hands on fun.

Mrs Donnelly even saddled up Starlight, the classroom horse, for some fun pretend horse riding! 🤠🐴

What a fun way to bring our learning to life! ✨

Today our students wore yellow to remind us of the importance of checking in, starting conversations and looking out for the people around us. 🌼

A simple “Are you OK?” can make a big difference. 💛

📚 Story Sports—where imagination takes the field! ✍️🏆
Today, our students attended Story Sports heats at Ipswich Libraries with author Brian Falkner—and what a wonderfully wild day it was!
Creativity was put to the test as students:
🤖 used Donald Trump, Hilary Duff and a robot to create a science-fiction hook
🌋 connected a toothbrush, volcano and soccer ball into a sizzling start
🧙‍♀️ wrote council complaints from witches, Humpty Dumpty and Cinderella
🐺 retold Little Red Riding Hood from Play School, a news report or a Valley girl perspective
🐛 transformed The Hungry Caterpillar into the terrifying The Hangry Caterpillar
😂 and created plenty of memorable memes!
Our talented storytellers combined quick thinking, imagination and writing skills to produce some hilariously clever creations—and ended up taking out second place today!
A huge congratulations to the team on this fantastic achievement! 🥈👏

💙 **Happy Father’s Day from Rosewood State School!** 💙

Today we celebrate all the wonderful dads, grandads, stepdads, carers, father figures and special people who play such an important role in the lives of our students.

Thank you for the encouragement you give, the lessons you teach, the laughs you share and, most importantly, for simply being there. Your love, guidance and support help our children grow into confident, kind and resilient young people.

We hope all of the special people in our Rosewood State School community enjoy a wonderful Father’s Day filled with family, laughter and perhaps even a little time to put your feet up!

📚✨ The Book Week celebrations continued today with our Book Week Parade! ✨📚

What a fantastic display of creativity and imagination! Our students and staff looked amazing as they brought their favourite books and characters to life.

💜 Bullying No Way Week 💜

What a wonderful week of kindness, inclusion and standing together against bullying!

Our students took part in a range of activities across the week including our whole-school kindness chain, the Kids Helpline Largest Anti-Bullying Lesson, Dress Purple Day, lunchtime crafts and our Small Acts-Big Impact acts of kindness.

📚🔬 A Special Author Visit! 🔬📚

Today we welcomed Australian author and wildlife researcher Dr Sarah Pye to our school!

Students loved hearing how she combines science, wildlife research and real-life experiences with storytelling to create engaging books.

A wonderful reminder that reading can inspire curiosity, adventure and a lifelong love of learning!

🔬✨ With National Science Week coming up, our students loved getting to experience the excitement of a Street Science incursion yesterday! 🧪 From fascinating experiments to plenty of “wow!” moments, it was a fun and engaging way to spark curiosity and celebrate the wonders of science! 🧠💥
