Congratulations to Jayhaan in Year 12 on his selection in the Australian U18 Gridiron Team. This July he will wear the green and gold against New Zealand at the Festival of Football.

Yesterday Year 12 Biology and Mrs Foxall spent the day at University of Sydney engaged in hands on experiments as part of their course. Students had the opportunity to extract DNA and conduct gel electrophoresis to test for Sickle Cell Anaemia as well as handle E.Coli to purify protein from coral. 🧬

Today 12 Earth and Environmental Science students together with Ms Arts engaged in deep learning at the NSW core Library. This is where all rock core samples from around NSW are analysed and stored. We explored the facilities, learned about the technologies used by geologic to analyse the core samples and made judgements on suitable mining locations for the future. On the way back we stopped by Penrith council and learned about their cooler city program, designed to mitigate some of the effects of anthropogenic climate change.

Today marks National Sorry Day, a chance to commemorate the Stolen Generations and focus on healing and reconciliation.
A group of Ambarvale High School dancers attended the Memorial Service at Mt Annan Botanical Gardens. They performed wonderfully and were excellent representatives of our school.
